Marco Tilio has spoken out about the difficulties of his move to Celtic.

Joining a club when you are injured and undergoing a change in management certainly makes life difficult, with two other wingers signed by Celtic during the summer that was magnified for the Australian.

After 28 minutes of competitive football spread over two matches it wouldn’t be much of a shock if Tilio is shipped out on loan this month with a return to Australia looking the most likely option.

Despite those issues the 22-year-old is in the Australian squad for the Asian Cup, discussing his domestic situation he told The West Australian:

Of course from the outside it’s been tough. I obviously went to the club with an injury but I’ve been back for four months now fully training, fully fit. I probably feel physically better than what I’ve ever been in my career.

So I feel really good and I’m just raring to go, ready to play and hopefully this tournament’s a chance for me to do that.

I think it’s only improved me as a player being in and around that every day but overall, I’d like to get more game time and whatever that looks like, we’ll see what happens.

Unless he puts in an outstanding tournament in Qatar it is highly unlikely that Tilio will be featuring for Celtic in the months ahead unless there is a Liam Scales type set of circumstances about to hit Brendan Rodgers’ winger options.

Moving from Australia to Europe is a big uplift in any players career, the expectations at Celtic provide very little settling in time but it did take Tom Rogic two changes of manager and a spell out on loan before he blossomed into a fully fledged Celtic player- under Rodgers.
