Philippe Clement is lining up a stunning swoop for Cameron Pring.
Ibrox chiefs seem desperate to send Ridvan Yilmaz out on loan to Hellas Verona this month which would leave Borna Barisic as the only left-back in the first team squad.
With the Croatian injury prone and out of contract in the summer it would be a high risk policy with Pring viewed as an option if the Yilmaz deal goes through.
Some wishful reports suggested that Josh Doig would be Ibrox bound as part of the Yilmaz deal but with Marseilles forking out close to £5m for the former Hibs defender that option was never a goer.

Meanwhile, Gers are checking on Bristol City left-back Cameron Pring, and considering a swoop as they look to fill their problem position.
Pring has started 25 of Bristol City’s 27 Championship matches, with a contract running until May 2026 he won’t be coming on the cheap with a loan deal unlikely.
So far in the transfer window Clement has managed to bring in Fabio Silva on loan with summer star signing Sam Lammers going out on loan to Utrecht.
After Saturday’s Scottish Cup tie away to Dumbarton, Clement takes his side to Easter Road to play Hibs in one of his sides’ game in hand, Willie Collum isn’t likely to be involved in either match.

I’m beginning to think big Pip is another average the Rangers manager in brown brogues . Ok, he won a cup but that was easy when Celtic was knocked out of the competition so early . It’s becoming obvious that he is scaring the bejesus out of his squad to be successful …or else ! It’s also apparent that he now gets the dire mess the clumpany is in financially ,during this window …big time ! The SMSM and others have drooled all over themselves , desperate for success from this guy . I’ve always found that coaches or managers with red hot tempers and attitudes rarely gain achievements …but that’s just me !
