Abdallah Sima has returned from the African Cup of Nations with a long term abductor muscle injury.
Without playing in either of Senegal’s opening two matches the goalscoring winger has returned to the UK where he has scored 10 SPFL goals during his loan spell at Ibrox, their biggest goal threat after Tavpen.
Philippe Clement inherited something of an injury crisis but three months into the job it seems like the long term injuries are piling up with no return timeline for Danilo or Kieran Dowell while Kemar Roofe is barely able to string together two appearances per month.
Sima was signed on a season long loan from Brighton and was one of Micky Beale’s most successful signings but from Clement’s tone today it could be a long time before Sima is back playing football.

Asked for an update on Sima, the Belgian initially waffled his reply:
I expect news today, at the latest, tomorrow from my medical staff. I always listen to them and not towards other people.
So, ask me this question after the game and then I will give an answer about that.

Asked if it would be a short or long term injury Clement revealed the bad news:
It will be long term. That’s why I want to have also the right information.
Roofe is expected to resume full training at Murray Park in 7/10 days.
Clement looked agitated throughout the conference, snapping at answers and denying that he had requested the return of Alex Lowry from Hearts.

celtic must outbid sevco for shankland , it will be difference of the refs having to go to var more and award penalties to sevco without simma and shankland replacing him , we can draw the obvious attention to the refs cheating and ban beaton walshe and others officiating at our games now there’s a precedent , 3 million for shankland will give a nice return of 60 million in may , don’t let lawell do a mcginn to the club again
