Regular updates about Tiago Araujo suggested that Celtic were looking to sign a left-back this month but interest in the Estoril midfielder appears to have cooled over the last fortnight.

Last year Alexandro Bernabei was seeing fairly regular game time but under Brendan Rodgers the Argentinian has had to make do with just a handful of substitute appearances with Greg Taylor a fixture in the side.

Competition for places tends to work wonders for players with the possibility of injury to the former Kilmarnock defender one that Rodgers is ill equipped to deal with.

Wdowik is in his third season at Jagiellonia after moving from Odra Opole in January 2020, making the move during the same window as Celtic signed Patryk Klimala from Jagiellonia.

Since his move Wdowik has been the regular pick at left-back, developing a knack for scoring from free-kicks which is an area that Celtic are currently short in.

Pendry12 is a long standing member of Kerrydale Street with a low profile and track record for identifying Celtic transfer issues without screaming out for attention.

Clickbait and worse than the redtops why do you do this nonsense

Editor: Bit of a stretch to describe Kerrydale Street as a red top.

23, same height as Greg Taylor…

but does have about 100 first team appearances.

Must admit, I know hee-haw about the Polish league,

but at least he has experience – and capped by the national team,

so sounds promising, if a genuine target?
