Following a request from Ibrox the SFA have kept Willie Collum away from the next two fixtures for Philippe Clement’s side.

On Tuesday it was announced that Steven McLean will referee the midweek match at Hibs, late this afternoon Alan Muir was revealed as the man in charge of Saturday’s Scottish Cup tie at Dumbarton.

With John Beaton taking charge of the final pre-break fixture at home to Kilmarnock and Andrew Dallas doubling up on VAR duty it almost appears that Ibrox social media accounts are getting to select their own match officials.

Normally in the limelight Collum will be in charge of Saturday’s match between Spartans and Hearts.

After sending three statements to media partners following the defeat to Celtic a line was crossed when the Heart & Hand podcast was chosen to disclose the news that a request had been made to the SFA to have Collum excluded from their future fixtures.

Back in the 2018/19 season Collum went six months without refereeing Steven Gerrard’s side, now after the request has gone public the pressure is on to see whether they back Collum or follow instructions from Ibrox fan media websites.

It’ll be interesting to see when they instruct Collum to take charge of a Sevco game this time around…

Six weeks ? Sixteen weeks ? Six months ? Sixteen months –

We are watching and await with interest to see how it all unfolds…

I note that there is no VAR in the Dumbarton game v Sevco as well –

Ah well honest mistakes not in plain sight then on Saturday…

Poor Dumbarton having that mob in town on Saturday – What a grim day for it’s fine residents !

It’s at times like this that you despair at Scottish football governance.

IF we actually had a professional, competent governing body,

this shameful sceanrio just wouldn’t arise.

…and our own Board remains mute, as per! 🙁

  • harold shand says:

The 12 day meltdown and outrage fully backed by the media has worked

Willie Collum will be nowhere near their games for the rest of the season

  • Scud Missile says:

Haha lol all the dafties kicking up a fuss about sevco calling all the shots, oir fans are all fur coats and no nickers.

STAY AWAY FROM CELTIC PARK,HIT THE CHISLING LYING BOARD IN THE POCKET,THE £ SIGN IS ALL THEY UNDERSTAND,SO HIT THEM IN THE POCKER AND BOYCOTT THE GAMES,THEY WON’T BE LONG IN GETTING THECMESSAGE.
OTHERWISE WE ARE LOOKING AT THE KELLY’S AND WHYTE’S FROM YESTERYEAR BEING REPEATED,INFACT THIS BOARD ARE WORSE.

  • the maister says:

Logistically there may not be that much difference for sevco to run Scottish Football at the same time as their own outfit.
They could then lead us all the way to the precipice of the drain, as they did with their original outfit, and see us all go down it.
Sure, then we’d all be no worse of than they are now.
    Just a thought!

It’s disgusting what has the rangers got over s f a they should back their referees at all times can’t believe 1 team can dictate to them if you do it for one team surely every other team can say they don’t want certain referees
