Celtic eased their way back into action with a 5-0 win over Buckie Thistle amid a storm in and around Celtic Park.

During the second half fans were warned that train travel across Scotland would be cancelled from 7pm but there was some cheer on the pitch with as Celtic set up a Fifth Round tie away to St Mirren.

Paulo Bernardo continued his impressive recent scoring form and was quickly followed onto the scoresheet by Odin Thiago Holm. By half-time Kyogo Furuhashi had put Celtic 3-0 up as they battled against the VAR lines generated by Steven McLean.

After the break Luis Palma scored a fine individual goal before two substitutes combined with Mikey Johnston setting up Rocco Vata for his first ever Celtic goal.

With Daizen Maeda and Oh Hyeon-gyu on duty at the Asian Cup Vata could be in for some more unexpected game time in the coming weeks, starting on Saturday when Ross County visit for the resumption of the SPFL Premiership campaign.

I’d like to have seen Liel Abada’s (disallowed) goal again. If the new huns score that goal it’s given every time IMHO. I’ll be happy to be corrected but it seems to me Kyogo is called for offside yet he wasn’t involved with play so he’s in an offside position but NOT offside?
FFS, the offside rule has MUCH to answer for, for decades. Too easily abused and we know what that means in Scotland and Chairman Lawwell just laps it up and never says a word on behalf of OUR club.

Good day for Buckie Thistle and Celtic as well…

Hope Buckie enjoyed their day and their windfall –

However I just wish it was Clachnacuddin FC at Parkhead yesterday and not Buckie Thistle !!!
