On Friday Brendan Rodgers admitted that the Celtic board could have been braver during the January transfer window.

At Pittodrie yesterday the away support unfurled a banner that read ‘CELTIC BOARD- ON YOUR HEAD BE IT’ relating to the lack of transfer activity on the back of dropping six points in December to open up the SPFL title race.

The banner was unfurled out of view of the Sky Sports cameras but as the players emerged from the tunnel before the match it was impossible for the players to miss as they applauded the away support.

During the match chants were heard criticising the Celtic board, two more points were dropped from a hesitant, disjoined display with social media the main outlet for anger and frustrations from fans watching their team regress rapidly from last season’s treble.

Reflecting on the banner and the mood among supporters Joe Hart told the Daily Record:

It’s not a distraction for the players, not at all. We see it, there’s no getting away from it, it was a decent-sized banner.

But that’s for the support and that’s what they need to work out. As players we stay focused and the management team and staff have a job to do. And we’re fully focused on that.

Ideally we win that game 4-0 and everybody’s smiling and everybody’s happy. But it doesn’t work like that.

Aberdeen had a lot to prove today and a lot to work on after losing their manager recently. It was always going to be a tough game. But the support is there for us.

Rodgers is expected to host a media conference on Tuesday to discuss the match away to Hibs the following night, by the time that match kick-off Celtic could be second in the Premiership table.

We all knew that we could not afford to drop more points again so soon , with sevco guaranteed a penalty per game or a var cheating decision going their way this season by bent officials, the league may be out of our reach in may , or be decided by one little mistake , we were all aware of this , especially management , the board , desmond , who left the team threadbare yesterday , we have been here before going for the ten , it was staring us all in the face and allowed to continue , in any event weeping and knashing will not change things now as it is to late and the dye has been cast.

However a price must be now be extracted from those responsible and only a clear out from top to bottom will prevent this fiasco from happening again , a rebuild will begin at sevco with C L money provided by the celtic board and we need proper people at the helm to respond to that , shame on those who neglected the club , its wonderful fans and duties to uphold proper governance

I keep hearing this crap about getting rid of the board but what will anyone do about it? Nothing, that’s what, lawwell and son will be there this time next year, I won’t be going back to parkhead or spending another penny on merchandise (and I spend quite a few bob between myself and the grandsons) but I’ll be in a very tiny minority, just accept that not only are sevco coming, they’ve arrived suckers.

I totally agree Tam. The club does not deserve the fans.
The Board are self-serving creeps who employ yes men. This can never be a success. I think the end game is nigh.

Sevco will trample over us for YEARS if they win the title this season…

Drop anything at Easter Road where Brendan has never won and it’s pretty much (tragically) over I’d say –
