Aware of the unrest and anger caused by another dismal transfer window news is starting to leak out of Celtic’s near misses from last month.
Two weeks ago Keith Jackson was giving a minute by minute breakdown over the hard luck story involving Owen Beck.
Apparently a stunning swoop was all in place for the left-back until dastardly Jurgen Klopp decided to use his own player for the final 10 minutes of a win away to Bournemouth.
It seems that no one at Celtic considered putting in a bid at the start of January- Beck’s appearance at Bournemouth was on January 21, despite his ‘extensive’ contacts and knowledge Mark Lawwell was unable to come up with a Plan B in the 12 remaining days of the window.
Along similar liners Mark Hendry of Football Scotland details the daring deadline day bid to snatch Mathias Kvistgaarden from Brondby.
? Excl: Celtic approached Brondby early in mid-January about Mathias Kvistgaarden but were told no sale.
Adam Idah only on loan with no option. Will be interesting to see if they move in summer.

Celtic were linked with the striker during the summer transfer window but refused to meet the asking price despite having £72m sitting in the bank at the end of June.
Brondby’s valuation hadn’t dropped when Celtic returned in mid-January but towards the end of the month Lawwell was back in touch to see if the Danes were interested in dropping their asking price towards Celtic’s valuation:
Football Scotland, however, can reveal that Celts did speak with Brondby fairly late on in the January window once again about the potential of bringing Kvistgaarden to the Premiership. Once more they were told a fee but they were also warned that the club did not want to sell in the winter market so no deal could be done. There was also no official offer put forward at that time.
This time Lawwell did have a Plan B, rather than signing a slight, pacy forward in Kvistgaarden he switched to a physical target man with Adam Idah signed with an hour to spare in the transfer window.
For anyone who has taken this wrong way: Celtic have wanted a left-back since before window opened, as my report on Tiago Araujo and Owen Beck has highlighted. Since Taylor’s injury was confirmed, it’s been an even stronger push. https://t.co/RYexp1VkKE

Ah – we tried but were thwarted…
Ah – we tried but it’s not a buyers market in January (not even with £72 million in the bank) –
Ah – we got some success with (the millionth winger) and the loan striker…
Ah – we’ll learn from it all and see how we get on in the summer window –
Ah – it’s all fuckin bullshit and we’re all fcukin fed up with it !
The deal probably stalled due to mutton chops lowballing it. Utterly useless fat waster. And junior is equally as useless.
Wish the lawwells would gtf
Has PL got Jim Traynor on the cheap, to do the club’s PR…?!
Embarrassing. 🙁
I nearly slept with this stunningly beautiful woman.
But didn’t.
That’s where that particular story ends. But the continuing tale of our club’s very own football recruitment dynasty could run longer than Coronation Street…
…they must really think we are all as gullible as Frank Spencer to believe this sort of deflecting twaddle from their favoured toadies in the press.
And a fcukin EIGHT point lead is frittered Away…
And NINE points less than the corresponding amount of fixtures last season –
Hope you’re happy tonight Desmond and Lawwell ya fat bastard now youse have your beloved O#d Fi#m arms race back once again…
And you’re useless, talentless son ‘Sonny Lawwell’ that spunked £20 million on utter shite will no doubt be delighted as well –
Well us Celtic supporters certainly ain’t very happy !
It’s all bollocks,,,players coulda been brought in,,they’ve gambled with this title,,it’s time for changed, and there is movement among the fan base(the life’s blood of this club)they don’t fill the coffers of cfc for others to piss fck about with it, the wee Canadian bunnet would be booting their arses down the London Rd and beyond,,,the board have been found wanting and to be chancers,, that’s not how a business is run,
