After almost 48 hours of a media frenzy Brendan Rodgers hosted a media conference today to preview Celtic’s match against Dundee tomorrow night.

This morning both Radio Scotland and TalkSPORT dedicated broadcasting time to discuss the words Good Girl which the Celtic boss had used in an interview with BBC Scotland following the 3-1 win at Motherwell.

While Jane Lewis wished to discuss Celtic’s first half failing Rodgers focussed his comments on the match overall. Pushed further the Irishman referenced that this Celtic squad will write their own story for the season.

I think, sadly for me, in society now we are either looking to offend or find something that is offensive, to try to pin onto people

I think you guys know since I’ve been up here, and any journalist or reporter or anyone one in the media, that I have always based my life on relationships.

So I have always offered a warmth and a respect and courteous, and offering time to people. And that will never change, so obviously with what is out there I feel the need to address that.

I deal with people in life, whether that’s the players and wanting to help them become better or people in the media.

I have spoken to Jane and she wasn’t offended, we had a laugh about it, and she’ll continue to ask me awkward questions I’m sure.

But I see her every week and we’ve got good relations like I do with most people in my life, whether that’s professional or social.

After dropping 12 points from the start of December to fall into second place many media outlets have been dismissing Celtic’s title chances, Lewis ought to have been aware of that as she spoke to their manager.

Rodgers wasn’t will to go into detail about writing their own story, with the BBC reporter continuing to push that point he concluded the interview with the phrase ‘good girl’ which Lewis repeated.

Celtic’s two stoppage time goals at Motherwell have almost been forgotten with two words gaining far more attention than goals and points.

Words have become political weapons. ‘Good girl’. ‘good lad’ are common expressions in Ulster. Just to demonstrate how ridiculous things are getting…it’s alright to be ‘claustrophobic’ but not ‘islamophobic’. People have the right to be offended but not to infer their perceived offence is also on everybody else.

That no talent screeching rent a gub Kaye Adams was all over it. This tells you all you need to know about the quality of the arguments being put forward particularly from the British Bullshit Corporation.
