Brendan Rodgers opened up on the outside pressures that face a Celtic manager.
Following the 2-0 win away to St Mirren to book a place in the last eight of the Scottish Cup the Celtic boss was interviewed live on Viaplay Sport.
While Emma Dodds asked the first question Jim Goodwin and Neil Lennon soon took over with both men, especially Lennon able to empathise with the pressures of the job.
Since losing at home to Hearts two months ago Celtic have won eight and drawn once but that run hasn’t spared the club, the manager and players from criticism.
On Wednesday night Celtic may slip into second place in the SPFL title race but after a demanding nine days of visits to Aberdeen, Hibs and St Mirren Rodgers feels that his side is in a strong place for the business end of the season.
After going through some of the issues his side have faced there was a moment of humour between two Irishmen who have both had two stints managing Celtic.
“The narrative around our team is that we’re not together, but you can’t come and win fairly comfortably like that if you’re not.” ?? @CelticFC manager Brendan Rodgers after victory against St Mirren ?#ScottishCup pic.twitter.com/RXbEUuAzmf

Rodgers: When you are successful, and this club has been for a long period it doesn’t take much for people to try and take you down.
Lennon: It is a high bar, it is your fault
Rodgers: And yours, and yours
Celtic were drawn at home to Livingston in the Scottish Cup, on Saturday they return home to face Kilmarnock in the SPFL Premiership.
Glad to get a home draw v Livingston…
Sevco might have to be lucky to beat Hibernian away if they try as hard as they did against Celtic the other night !
