The Ibrox Ticket Rumour

One tweet published just before 10am has sent off alarm bells among Ibrox fans.

After more than five years of bravado it is finally dawning on some bears that the restricted allocation of Derby tickets isn’t doing their team any favours.

Dave King started it all off in the summer of 2018, after recruiting Steven Gerrard as manager he decided to pander to the moon howlers that had suffered through four successive parties in the Broomloan as Brendan Rodgers stamped his authority on the Derby fixture.

Celtic responded instantly, the 800 allocation stayed in place until the Celtic board realised that too many injuries were being suffered by the fans that were simply target practise in a corner of Ibrox.

The last four Derby matches have been home fans only, Celtic won the three meaningful games with the Ibrox board starting to realise that the reduced allocation is an act of self harm.

Any move to give Celtic a realistic allocation for the April 6 fixture is purely to ensure a similar allocation for the post-split match at Celtic Park- and the opening Derby of next season.

James Bisgrove has already said that nothing can be done for this season but he also signed off on the Sydney Super Cup before backtracking and missing out on his commission for that enterprise.

Giving way to Celtic fans back in the Broomloan in April will spark an incredible backlash against the whizz kid turned CEO, if this one also backfires he’ll need to be very selective about the bears he invites to the next fan forum.

Keeping fan media websites sweet will also require a charm offensive after they initiated the 2018 ticket reduction.

Displaced bears can expect to be offered 50 MyGers points and a 10% discount on this year’s Castore kit for handing their seat over to a Selik fan.

Like those muppets Doncaster and Regan once said, “there could be civil unrest!”. Arf arf. I was half-hoping we’d get a trip to iBrox in the cup draw on Sunday – they’d be forced the give us tickets under cup rules!

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Full Broomloan Road 7,500 or Fcuk all at all !

Even if it means 8,500 for them as we have a bigger and better stadium –

Strange though how the rumours start as they get dangerously close to catching Celtic for the first time ever with fans in stadiums !
