Image for Rodgers reveals friendly plan for injured star

Celtic are looking to arrange a Closed Doors match specifically for Reo Hatate.

The midfielder has only started four SPFL matches this season and played 20 minutes of club football since the end of October.

After coming off the bench to play against St Mirren on January 2 Hatate flew out for international duty at the Asian Cup but returned early with two injured calf’s

In recent days there has been upbeat reportS on Hatate’s fitness including images from training sessions with his team-mates at Lennoxtown.

Asked about arranging a friendly for Hatate, Rodgers told The Sun:

That’s the plan. We want to get minutes into Reo and push him on. He will be huge for us. We’ll get some of the players working here, have a game and get some of them up to speed.

Cameron Carter-Vickers could be involved in that friendly with the defender suffering a number of injuries this season to restrict his appearances.

After starting every SPFL match this season Callum McGregor has missed Celtic’s last three matches but seems to be pencilled in for a return to action away to Livingston on March 31.

The plastic surface at the Tony Macaroni Arena will be a big factor as the comeback plans are put together as the clock ticks towards a pivotal SPFL date at Ibrox on April 7.

I think Reo has been irreplaceable this season and it shows. What a boost to get him back if he comes back at the top of his game. CalMac has always earned the right to wear The Celtic Jersey, a fantastic player, Captain and Mhan and rightly a 1st pick. For me the other ‘must have’ is CCV and we’ve seen what a difference he makes when he’s fit. A quick nod to Big Joe too in his final season. Without him some of our poor results would have been even worse.
SO, COME ON THE GLASGOW CELTIC, COME ON YOU BHOYS IN GREEN.
Return to that fantastic style of play and make us truly proud as we lift the Double and confirm Sevco was never Rangers and by July they’ll both be rotting in hell for eternity.
    Aye, Hail! Hail! tae THAT!

Cheers Clach, without intending any form of elitism, we’re (sorry should be) so far ahead of that scum from Ibrox we should’ve won the title already…….but PTL is still in the building pretending he’s ‘non-executive’ Chairman and the rest of the Board adhere to the same myth. Just like the continuation myth of Rangers FC. Total fukkin lies by liars to a man. They can’t leave the OF myth alone! The OF’s deid, get used tae it!
FUKK THE BOARD! I’m a Celtic FC supporter, through and through, not a PLC supporter. FUKK THE BOARD and it’s absent, tory, leeching bastard of a major shareholder.
