The Crawford Allan rumour

The announcement of Crawford Allan’s departure from the SFA comes 10 days before Brendan Rodgers answers a Notice of Complaint at Hampden Park.

Comments made after Celtic’s 2-0 defeat at Tynecastle on March 3 prompted the SFA to take action, Celtic have decided to contest the charge which is a rarity since the events of July 2012 when the Five (Six) Way Agreement was rushed through.

Rodgers spoke briefly about the Notice of Complaint at his media conferences on March 1, mentioning that he would discuss the issue with Celtic and their lawyers.

With CEO Michael Nicholson a qualified Sports Lawyer the solution should be in-house but after two and a half years of doing nothing in particular it wouldn’t be a surprise if Celtic went outside as Rodgers challenges a likely two match touchline ban.

The events since the match at Tynecastle are in stark contrast to the campaign launched against Willie Collum by the club formed in 2012 by Charles Green.

After an ‘Ibrox source’ briefed their media messengers the SFA opted to take no action, on February 15 Allan praised Philippe Clement for speaking up for Collum after a month long campaign against the Lanarkshire referee who got no backing from the SFA.

Within a week of the Glasgow Derby Ibrox CEO James Bisgrove was sitting at Hampden listening to the audio between Willie Collum on VAR and Nick Walsh who refereed the match at Celtic Park.

If the SFA are unable to provide the audio between John Beaton and Don Robertson from Tynecastle it should be more than just the Notice of Complaint against Rodgers that is thrown out.

  • Owen Mullions says:

There’s a rumour on social media that the audio has been ‘accidentally’ deleted. Make of that what you will but I wouldn’t be surprised.

  • FSTB says:

It is inconceivable that the audio in this case has been deleted .
I find that rumour hard to believe as the conciquences of such a scenario would surely be game changing

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

If it has been ‘accidentally’ deleted FSTB then the game is a bogey, bogey, bogey x a million times…

It’s like in The Six Occupied Counties on The Island of Ireland whereby lots of court evidence against cold blooded murderers was ‘accidentally’ ‘lost’ –

The SFA and The RUC – Two cheeks of the same arse me thinks !

  • Terence Nova says:

Without knowing ( or guessing ) the reason for this guy leaving his post …All I will say is…It’s too coincidental to be a ” normal ” decision…and I am positive that much more is to follow.

  • The Joker says:

Lol shiting it and running away from the lawyers involved,if the audio of the conversation that took place with VAR got deleted by mistake then there needs to an even heavier investigation into this.
It’s like that episode and sketch scene from Chewin The Fat, ah can smell shite, yes I can definitely smell shite.

    • Zeddy says:

So how is it.possibkento delete it by mistake ?

Wherever i delete anything I get asked in some way or another…….Are you sure ????

The Celtic board are once again taking their paying customers for mugs !!!

  • James Ward says:

How convenient for them to have lost the audiol. Beaton and Robertson should get sacked too.

    • John Copeland says:

How do we know what the conversation is between the ref and VAR ,as we are not allowed to hear the secret chats ? It could be something like ‘ fancy a beer later ,pal ‘ type of thing . The paying public and the folks who pay the TV subscriptions watching at home are ‘ persona non grata ‘ as far as offialdom are concerned .Pay your money ,sit there and be quiet ! That’s the attitude for all of Scottish football ? Those rugby guys know the time of day with the proper use of digital technology and respect for all paying fans . Are they hiding something with the silence during contentious football decisions ? It certainly looks that way …dinnit ?Open the pod door Hal !

  • Zeddy says:

    My point is this !!!!

Why are the board not playing this out in the media ?

Why are they treating the paying customer who are potentially being cheated out of their money …AGAIN…like idiots !!!!!!

Why are they protecting the SFA against our interests ?

This is their shield for their poor decisions and leadership that’s why ?

Keep us in the dark and feed us sxxx !!!

As hard as it is I will never regret handing back my.3 tickets over the Ibrox scandal. 10 years of cheating and they did nothing and they still do nothing but treat us with contempt.

£60 million in the bank and look at the nick of us.

The Celtic board are the true scandal in all of this !!!!

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Why are the board not playing this out in the media ?

      One simple reason Zeddy…

Because it’s The CELTIC Board –

And when in the name of goodness did they ever stick up for Celtic and Celtic supporters…

The Twelfth Of Never is the answer to that one !

    • Sid says:

How convenient lol. Just like the Jota offside, that Jota was offside when he received the ball, their was no camera angle because it was looking at the dugout. What point do the fans say enough? If they treat you like a mug and you keep paying then you’re a mug.

    • Terence Nova says:

Too early for our Club to say anything ….Give our Lawyers the chance to produce evidence at the appropriate time…Which isn’t too much to ask…surely…?

  • TicToc says:

I commented on this on earlier thread. We are in a position of STRENGTH here and need to use it, for once.
BTW, it’s worth a shout asking John Beaton’s local, the Crown Bar in Bellshill, for their copy of that audio and video as Beaton, and no doubt Robertson too, went back there after the game to show off their days’ ‘work’ and collect free drinks from the adoring gillibillies. Maybe not quite as gullible as some of us think. Certainly possess feral cunning in spades. Scum bastards.

  • Bhoy4life says:

Seems that if there is ever any faults or issues with VAR in this country its always when there’s nefarious decisions involving us….the nae lines var, deleted audio var….wonder what else has been jiggery pokerried…..

  • Bob (original) says:

BR should be all ‘lawyered up’ as they say,

and the club should also be ‘PR’d up’ – with proper professionals

    to exploit this situation.

It’s a war of attrition with the SFA – which our club must win –

and take this opportunity to put down a marker – FINALLY!

[Or, mibbees Maxwell wakes up – and drops the BR charge?]

  • BriBhoy says:

The game was covered by Sky, who we know get to hear what is said by VAR. So they should have a copy that they could use in this case, if the Sees Fuck All (Hears Fuck All) that (mis)manages our game has lost theirs.

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Sky Sports Scotland are no friends of Celtic BriBhoy…

They are another lot who ‘won’t be able to find it’ –

But they’re neither the defendant nor the accused nor the prosecutor nor the complaint in the case unlike The SFA…
