The SPFL has bowed again to orders from Ibrox by rescheduling their postponed fixture with Celtic to Wednesday April 10- three days after the visit from Celtic.

On Sunday the match was the subject of a late postponement followed by the traditional angry statement from Ibrox.

The SPFL had two options when to reschedule the fixture, in all previous circumstances they take the first option available just in case anything happens and they have a fall-back, a Plan B.

That would have scheduled the match for Wednesday April 3 but ensuring that Philippe Clement’s side get a clear run at the match against Celtic this afternoon the SPFL announced.

Had the match been scheduled as expected it would have resulted in matches against Hibs on March 30, Dundee on April 3 and Celtic on April 7, instead the sting has been taken out of that run.

The next big decision is for the SFA as they announce the match referee and VAR, John Beaton was expected to be put in charge but his position is in jeopardy with Brendan Rodgers facing a Notice of Complaint against the man from the Crown Bar 10 days before the Glasgow Derby.

If not Beaton it will be someone out of the same box. Preferably one who is retiring at the end of the season so no come backs.

  • Bob (original) says:

    Whether it’s justified or not,

there are a LOT of Scottish footy supporters

who regard both the SPFL and the SFA as wholly inept – and possibly corrupt.

To have both governing bodies held in such low regard.

can only ever be a hindrance to the game?

    🙁

Sevco MUST get what Sevco fcukin wants – or else…

What a cancer that Doncaster and his cohorts at The SPFL are as their evil cells radiate through the Scottish game and ravage it to bits and all for a club called Sevco that today are only 11 years and 236 days old…

Dunno about any other Celtic supporters but I certainly hope and pray that Scotland gets HAMMERED at Euro 2024…

How could it come to this for a country I used to love to win in The 80’s and now I HATE it at football…

Fuck off back to England then Doncaster and take the cancer that you and your fellow countryman Regan brought to an already rancid football country with you…

And while you’re at it take your fuckin smelly stinking cabal of Scummy Cheats at The SFA and SPFL with you !!!

  • Jimbo says:

    Is anybody really surprised ..

  • Partick Bhoy says:

Celtic, just go out and do these bstards on the 7th.
Then watch sevco crumble. Hail hail.

  • Kevin Lee says:

If Rodgers wins his case then Desmond must get an independent police force to charge all sfa and referee’s involved with corruption match fixing and bringing the game into disrepute this will get them all singing like canaries blameing each other this is the only way to clean up scottish football.

  • Kevin Dunne says:

Of course SFA (masons in disguise) will do as the ipox regime require ,whole season been same , Celtic having 2/3 games away 1 home 2away that,s how desperate they are to stop us , they won’t we WILL RETAIN OUR TITLE.HAIL HAIL
