Brendan Rodgers is hoping to have a full squad to select from for the weekend match at Livingston.

While he waits to check on the fitness of players involved in international matches a very useful core of players have been working away at Lennoxtown after missing out on the call of their country.

Callum McGregor tops the list with the club captain out of action since scoring in the 7-1 win over Dundee on February 28.

Reo Hatate, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Luis Palma have all had injury issues in recent weeks but it seems that with the season reaching a crucial stage they are all coming back into contention.

Covering the fuller interview on Celtic TV, Football Scotland reports Rodgers saying:

We have obviously been getting players back, which is really good. Fingers crossed by the end of this international period, we all come back. Then we’ll all be ready and embraced for a really exciting run-in.

I think every game in this division can be a difficult game, but it’s about how you perform and our focus will very much be on ourselves.

Of course it’s great if they’re available. Each one is obviously different but when they have that know-how and experience with how to deal with it [title run-in] then that can be key. I think the three players mentioned there are obviously hugely influential players for the team. So, it will be great to have them back and available.

The plastic pitch at Livingston is bound to be a major consideration on who will play from the start against David Martindale’s side.

If everyone is back to full fitness Rodgers will have some big selection decisions to make but almost certainly Carter-Vickers, McGregor and Hatate would go straight into Celtic’s strongest Starting XI.
