Chris Sutton has turned on Robbie Savage after a trolling exercise by the former Welsh internationalist.

After checking out from Sky Sports yesterday Sutton was teaming up with Savage on BBC 5 Live! where they share their views on the weekend action spiced up with discussion with callers to the show.

The lunchtime 3-3 draw from Ibrox certainly gathered plenty of attention with VAR assisted penalty decision early in the second half the biggest talking point.

In real time John Beaton awarded Fabio Silva a yellow card but after being prompted to review the incident on the monitor the match referee felt that he had made a clear and obvious error with the booking cancelled and the home side awarded a penalty.

When James Tavernier converted from 12 yards out the entire complex of the game changed.

Whatever Sutton’s view is on any incident Savage inevitably goes in the opposite direction to ensure lively debate on the airwaves, listening in to BBC 5 Live! last night the Daily Record reported the former Celtic striker saying:

There has to be sufficient contact, Rob. He went down all afternoon. There were many incidents before that and he goes down again.

He is awarded a yellow card for simulation. Was it a clear and obvious error? Was there sufficient contact, Rob? Come on. You are just saying that.

In terms of cards handed out by Beaton there were four yellows for Celtic players and none for the home team, with 46% possession Celtic committed 23 fouls and were awarded 10 free kicks.

As is the norm at Ibrox the away side gets little from the referee and VAR officials. Levelling up on penalties was a joke. Celtic players getting booked right left and centre while Rangers players commit foul after foul and some diving all over the place.

How does Allister Johnston get booked for a challenge when no foul is given?

Celtic were robbed on the day but saying that they shouldn’t have let a 2-0 lead slip or when getting back in front at 3-2 being unable to see the game out!

Incidentally I am a Killie fan.

Then fans of other clubs should stand in solidarity with Celtic and their fans I’m sure you will agree Gordon, as they suffer as much from bring on the receiving end of Sevco being awarded dodgy penalties and other decisions as Celtic are, therefore you guys should demand your board call it out and make a complaint to UEFA.

It’s getting noticed down south as well big time…

Several of the clubs in the epic relegation battle in The Championship have forums and on a huge weekend of results for them all I dipped in to see an alternative perspective from all the rivals of ma favourite Championship club…

They all have commented on their today’s games threads about yesterday and they are all pretty disgusted with Silva and his theatrical disgrace and are also pretty disgusted with Cheatin Beaton as well…

It won’t change things but it’s good that it’s being noticed !

A snorkel and pair of flippers for Silva for his next birthday? Was this the cunning plan Clement had for Celtic,s visit? It was obvious to me, watching that first half, with the way Celtic were playing, that Silva just wasn’t up to it. If Silva is worth £35 mil, l,m a monkey,s uncle. Well l am a Mickey! ?
