Philippe Clement’s side have been awarded a penalty in every domestic match since the end of February.

While the mainstream celebrate the incredible achievements of James Tavernier the truth of the season is that there is a clear pattern of assistance to prop up a title challenge out of Philippe Clement’s squad.

On the evidence of Sunday’s match away to Ross County the pressure seems to be getting too much with the efforts of Andrew Dallas unable to secure a point from the side that remained in 11th place despite Sunday’s success.

During the first half Dallas, almost a Season Ticket holder for Clement’s side on VAR, opted to apply Goldson’s Law when the former Shrewsbury starlet used his hand to deflect the ball as County chased an equaliser.

At the other end of the park, with time running out Dallas ordered an 88th minute VAR review when the ball brushed against Brandon Kehla.

That penalty took Tavernier above Alfredo Morelos as the all-time top scorer for the Tribute Act formed by Charles Green in 2012.

Dundee have suffered as much as any team from the patterns produced by Crawford Allan’s specialist officials.

In the most recent run of fixtures the penalties have been awarded when Clement’s team have been trailing or on level terms- when they are most needed.

Don Robertson will referee Wednesday’s match, wherever the SFA decide to play it with Alan Muir on VAR duty.

Tony Docherty and his squad know what to expect, one consolation is that they have plenty of fresh evidence of Tavernier’s penalty technique.

How many points have sevco gained this season by scoring from penalties in tight matches, and what would their points total have been without these penalty goals?
