Justin was a star on Super Scoreboard last night as he lapped up another convincing win over Hearts with Cyriel Dessers the hero. The Ibrox striker has scored four of his last six goals against Steven Naismith’s side.

Apparently the reason that Dessers hasn’t smashed in 40 goals this season is because he is suffered Torres Syndrome!

In January 2011 Chelsea paid an incredible £50m to sign Fernando Torres from Liverpool where he had scored an incredible 65 goals in 91 appearances, one of the best ever scoring rates in the EPL.

At Chelsea the goals virtually dried up overnight, just 20 were scored in the EPL, from over two goals in every three matches to well under one in three isn’t what you expect from a £50m striker.

Torres was punted out on loan to AC Milan and Atletico Madrid before his Chelsea contract expired, all washed up when he should have been at his peak.

And that apparently is Justin’s take on Dessers!

I thought against Hearts in the semi-final he was brilliant, he took his first goal absolutely phenomenally. I think that there is genuinely a player in there. You need to , the players round about him need tae understand, link up with him better.

Maybe Kenny would shed some light on that? I think when you’ve got Sima who is quite direct and likes to score. You’ve got Cantwell who is quite direct and likes to score.

Maybe noe at the same level but the way I’ve been looking at it for example is the way that Fernando Torres played for Chelsea?

You had Hazard, Lampard, goalscoring midfielders or wingers that didnae really play to Torres’ strengths. I know it is a slight, I’m noe saying that Dessers is Torres.

Gordon Duncan stepped in…

Unfortunately for Justin’s theory Sima could be out for the season with a hamstring injury while Cantwell has scored five goals in 20 SPFL matches this season.

And, under no stretch of the imagination has Dessers ever got close to a £26m move to Liverpool let alone turn in a scoring rate of close to 70% in the EPL.

BTW, there’s a new/newish Tim site, Celtic365, well worth a visit. I think it’s also open to proper Tim suggestions and could therefore become a leading site, especially for integrated comment and hopefully with archive.

You are free to give your own opinion but I for one of those majority celtic fans do like to know what the manky mob are upto.

Have you never heard the saying keep your friends close but you’re enemies closer. Given what you have just written, probably not. This site along with most of the celtic bloggers keep us updated on what is really going on and what is getting said.

Maybe you’re more a traditional guy and prefer the smsm for your information might be best to stick with that.

Unfortunately the alternative is BBC Sportsound and we know what type of outlet that is with a rising reputation for hiring ex theRangers players and affiliates ..with public money ! The Beeb’s recruitment policy in Scotland ,is seemingly one of where it is imperative to have letters after your name ( EBT) or a substantial side letter as an employment reference ? It’s almost like flies around a big steaming hot turd lying on the pavement on a hot Summer’s day ?
