BBC Scotland have completed another week of upbeat news from Ibrox with the exclusive that Jack Butland will be staying on for next season.

The state broadcaster has been in top form this week as they look near and far for upbeat tales while ignoring Borna Barisic and Jack Butland confronting angry bears after Sunday’s win over Kilmarnock.

Today’s top stormy comes from the click-bait site Team Talk which now employs Fraser Fletcher to pull out good news stories, for reasons best known to himself Fletch has changed his name to Gillian.

Rangers are increasingly confident they will be able to keep a top star this summer despite significant interest from the English Premier League and in Europe.

Jack Butland is the player in question after having an outstanding first season at Ibrox following a free transfer switch from Crystal Palace.

Indeed, the 31-year-old has been named Rangers’ Player of the Year and still has an outside shot of working his way into Gareth Southgate’s squad for Euro 2024 after the England boss twice travelled to Ibrox to watch him in action recently.

Despite being on Southgate’s radar he was still left out of the last squad in March and revealed he’d had no talks over a return to international action.

Blah Blah Blah Blah

And now TT have been told that the Scottish giants are fully confident Butland, who signed a four-year deal last summer, will still be at Ibrox to start the new campaign.

Gers are back in action on Saturday when they head to Celtic in a game that they will have a huge bearing on who wins the Scottish Premiership title this season.

Tomorrow the BBC will provide top coverage of the Glasgow Derby with Neil McCann, Steven Thompson, Billy Dodds, Stuart McCall, Lee McCulloch and Rory Loy joining Kenny Macintyre, Tom English, Alasdair Lamont and Jane Lewis to help drain licence funds.

Aye make all the noises about keeping Butland knowing full well he’s 100% guaranteed to be sold to the first bidder if (when) they don’t win the league. As transparent as glass this mob, laughably pathetic to anyone that isn’t one of their cretinous number.

As for the prospect of an England Cap for Baby Face Butland? It died after twenty seconds of the last Derby game!
And as for Neil McCann, Steven Thompson, Billy Dodds, Stuart McCall, Lee McCulloch.
Where is the football glory among that lot? What?
But they are still circling the hive, continually drawing nectar from the common riches of the BBC’s Public Purse!”

  • Jim M says:

    Honestly ,
Lee McCulloch, FFS , they’ve scraped through the bottom of the barrel and dredged up him from amongst the scum .

This clown is as bright as a blackout .
More remembered as a hatchetman than pretending to be a footballer.

  • The Joker says:

Mad Norman Stanley Fletcher been sniffing the glue again, all that was pissing sorry missing from that article was the transfer fee that would tempt Gutland away, probably a figure like 50 mullion pounds by the way an awrat.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

They’re only worth listening to if Sevco gets beaten or draws and drops points…

I’ve drawn the short straw and have to drive to a family birthday restaurant dinner tomorrow night so no booze fo me to watch this one…

I think ma nerves will be shredded listening in so I might just need to go a spin away somewhere quiet in ma motor and arrive back 2.30pm (it will definitely be till then if Celtic only lead by one goal) and then should we be lucky enough to prevail then BBC Scotland will most definitely be….

    BEAUTIFUL – BEAUTIFUL – SCHADENFREUDE – INDEED !!!!

  • Terence Nova says:

That BBC team you listed has far too many Tims in it…How can you get a balanced view… when all these Celtic minded people are given the opportunity to air their views.??….Oh …wait a minute….MON THE HOOPS.
