The Glasgow Times has managed to outdo their media rivals in reporting the carnage in The Trongate on Saturday.
Across the board there were incredible takes on the joyous scenes involving thousands of Celtic fans celebrating their side winning the SPFL Premiership title for the fourth season running.
The scenes were similar to 2022, 2023 and 2014, it had been predicted but once against Glasgow City Council made no provision other than dismantling some bus shelters on Friday afternoon.
By 8pm with fans wondering off elsewhere Police Scotland moved in to start the clear up operation, boosted by dozens of Celtic fans arriving to collect litter.
There was nothing spectacular involved in the scenes, thanks to social media pictures and videos went viral showing the sunlit city in its best light.
That doesn’t suit legacy media outlets trying to retain a foothold in the digital age, pandering to an ageing, marching demographic accelerates their race to oblivion with Eszter Tarnai of the of the Newsquest owned title reporting:
The Glasgow Times witnessed several fights, unconscious people lined up on stretchers and mountains of rubbish lying on the street.
Strangely no evidence is offered up of these terrifying scenes.
There are plenty of pictures of celebrating fans and the clean up operation in the report but none of the people on stretchers, there isn’t even an ambulance included.
Despite being unable to provide portaloos and skips for rubbish GCC did manager to provide stretchers.
Should a Glasgow team win the Scottish Cup on Saturday similar scenes can be expected but reporting will need to reach new depths to match the efforts from the Glasgow Times to trash a huge segment of their target audience.
I am in Ireland and the negatives of the celebrations have been virtually zero apart from 1 fight and some litter.
You have to remember the Glasgow Times sports is ran by Rangers Vloggers . Chris Jack, Johnny Mc Farlane etc
They were praying for carnage and got none
The same publication who referred to Sevco fans causing carnage in Edinburgh a few years back as “West of Scotland football supporters”..
Who cares? What’d you say to a times reporter that’s just watched the Huns win a trophy? “Right you put that PlayStation away and get back to work”… I’ll get ma coat…

The official Celtic party have had more staff assaulted and casualties of violence in the previous four games at Ibrox than there were in the champions party celebrations….

So let me get this right, the Glasgow Times “witnessed” “unconscious people lined up on stretchers” and didn’t think to take a picture or a video!! I know their ‘journalism’ is incredibly bad, but come on, not a single picture taken of this incredible scene?? And every other news outlet failed to get the ‘money shot’ as well. Wow.

There used to be a Scummy that a wee guy sold from a stand outside Central Station called The Evening Times, never bought it but in hospital in Glasgow read it once it was full of death notices so would be apt for ‘Rangers’ fans then given the death of their club almost 13 years ago !

Did use to read ma wee granny’s Daily Record on the night shift up till she passed away 31 years ago then that was it – Think it was a guy called Alex Cameron back then – Probably a Sevco fan with a name like that but he really just reported the game the night before and there certainly didn’t seem to be so much anti Celtic hatred as there is as reported on here and Video Celts nowadays…
I think it was reported on another blog that the guy on Wallow Wallow puts up the day beforehand’s Scummy’s but I’m happy just to see what James puts up here and Video Celts as well and take it from there…
But if I had to read them I’d give the guy from Wallow Wallow the click hit any second of the minute, any minute of the day, any day of the week, any week of the year, any year of the decade, any decade of the century rather than give it to any single Scummy’s of The Scummy Scottish Football Media for sure !!!
