Late on Wednesday afternoon two hefty transactions were carried out on Celtic shares.
There are regular daily transactions of anything upto 1,000 shares. Over the last two years the price has been at a healthy 180p, for much of the last decade the price remained stagnant around the £1 mark
Two deals worth close to £500,000 each were completed between 4pm and 6pm.
Details of who was buying may become available in the near future but a day before the 2025 AGM fans are just left to speculate.
Those two transactions aren’t going to impact any level of change but it does indicate significant interest in shares.

According to the latest information on the Market Screener website Dermot Desmond owns 34.51% of the shares in Celtic. A total of 32,772,073 shares.
OWNERSHIP
The next biggest shareholding is with Lindsell Train who have 17.8% of the shares in the club.
Interestingly it is estimated that between 15-20% of the Celtic shares are dormant.
The bulk of the shares were issued in January 1995. Many of the buyers have passed on, others changed address while many Supporters Clubs that bought in may no longer exist.
Overall the ownership of Celtic is a fairly complex picture.
Anyone looking to have a serious interest would need to negotiate with Desmond or Lindsell Train, buying up other shares would be a slow process.
Tomorrow’s AGM is expected to involve a number of highly critical questions.
Since the start of this season the Celtic Fans Collective has emerged. They have recommended voting against the motions to re-elect each of the existing Directors.
CEO Michael Nicholson is rarely heard, since the resignation of Brendan Rodgers he hasn’t commented.
The AGM contains an hour long Q and A session which usually provides a few highlights and headlines. And discomfort for those on the top table.

So, if you take it as 20% dormant, then effectively the main shareholders’ stakes
are 20% more significant?
DD’s c.36% effectively becomes c.45%, based on an 80% ‘live’ shareholders’ base?
Still not quite a majority influence,
but maybe explains his dominant / overbearing behaviours?

I was nearly in my sixties and they wouldnae let me take a half litre plastic bottle of water, to wet my throat, into the stadium with me! You might throw it!
