The Daily Record has performed a very sharp u-turn in their attitude towards Tomas Cvancara.
On Tuesday afternoon, while seemingly Ibrox bound, Cvancara was a coveted striker, wanted by two Serie A clubs but apparently bound for Ibrox.
A few hours later that story was blown out of the water. And so to was the treatment of Cvancara.
Suddenly he was a dressing room trouble maker, and expected to sign for Celtic.
CVANCARA ATTITUDE SUMMARISES THE RECORD
It has long been known the demographic that the Record targets as readers.
That aim was at its strongest when Dave Murray was in charge of Rangers.
The good news was overflowing from futuristic stadium plans to fielding three different teams with Luca Vialli and Ronaldo spearheading the defence of the European Cup for Walter Smith’s side.
Unfortunately there was a downside to that sort of coverage.
The treatment given to a so-called billionaire from Motherwell went too far, in June 2012 the Record had to inform their Army of Readers of an ‘unexpected’ death.

Cvancara has a decent pedigree but there is no disguising the fact that he has had his problems over the last two years. If he didn’t he wouldn’t be on the move in January.
Every signing is a risk, the stakes are higher than ever with the state Michael Nicholson has got Celtic into.
Martin O’Neill is trying to sort out the mess while keeping a faltering title challenge on course.
It is expected that Celtic will announce the Cvancara deal today although with Nicholson involved anything is possible.
Previewing the match in Bologna O’Neill was keen to play down expectations on Celtic’s incoming striker.
Cvancara hasn’t played a competitive match since December 4. But with the Celtic squad so weak he is likely to go straight into the squad for Sunday’s match away to Hearts.
When it comes to Rangers they always seem to beat off competition from top clubs for their players. Is is wild though ? it’s always sunshine and roses when they talk about the huns, but doom and gloom when talking about Scotlands most successful football club.

It’s called the daily rangers for a reason

You can always count on the Daily Ranger for the positive Rangers slant to a story or the negative Celtic story. The rag is utterly pathetic.

I even blocked the scummy bar stewards on here. Their website is unusable, which is definitely a good thing. Hope they die very soon. Not before time @Record_Sport

“Cvancara hasn’t played a competitive match since December 4.”
He can start [probably must start?] against Hearts,
but nobody would reasonably expect him to last the full 90+ minutes?
…but the risk of injury must also be significantly higher?
Keep him on the pitch just long enough to get his debut hat-trick,
then hook him immediately! 🙂
Hasnt been paid wages for 1.5 seasons so no wonder he is making waves in the dressing room. The club is broke and he wants his money.
That newspaper is a disgrace all the had to do was ask questions. Ratbags! And our club favors them into CP !!!
That said he is not for me as i stated before.
Whilst at Celtic , Adam Idah had 52 game appearances and scored 21 goals, a 40% strike rate.
He got into positions to get a couple of winners and a winning assist. For Swansea City in
The Championships he has appeared 18 times for 3 goals. He will be 25 years old in February. He knew how Celtic played and the lay of the land in Scottish Premiership Football.
I believed Adam had plenty of upside to give Celtic. The manager thought otherwise. I am pleased for him now.
I look forward to seeing the new striker in action. One Fan Media outlet called Tomas a hitman?
Cal should tell Tom about VAR etc.
His greatest success was with Spartac Prague. I hope it is soon, that Tom will be team ready.
The reason the daily Record could not be bothered to delve deeper into the story is because most of their scoops are brown nosing it big time in Ibroxland ? Wee Scotty ..big Andy …Gav ..Frase from the circling the drain print section plus a number of digital typists are concentrating on tonight’s dead rubber game , but most importantly, which £20 million pounds superstar will be ‘ jetting in ‘ from all parts of the globe to join the circus ? All roads lead to Govanlandia ..don’t youn know !
Wouldn’t know any of these names for obvious reasons Valentines…
But I do know they’re The Scum of The Universe for sure !
