According to Brian Wilson the suspension of the Green Brigade from Celtic Park is down to the mysterious Safety Advisory Group?
Wilson is of course a politician. A former Cabinet colleague of Peter Mandelson, Gordon Brown and Tony Blair. Only an idiot would trust anything that any of them have to say.
Self promotion and self survival are the only motivations for Labour politicians.
Back in November Celtic announced the three match suspension of the Green Brigade.
A long distance video of fans leaving the standing section was shown to justify the move.
CELTIC SUSPEND THE GREEN BRIGADE
Apparently there was an incident in the stadium concourse. It is believed that four fans have been charged with Breach of the Peace. Charged, not convicted. Celtic reacted by suspending 250 Season Ticket holders.
During their suspension Celtic have lost at home in a Glasgow Derby and to Hearts and Hibs. Martin O’Neill’s side currently trail Hearts by six points.
According to Wilson the Safety Advisory Group are imposing the Green Brigade suspension.
No date was given over when they SAG took on the suspension. How an Advisory group have such power is a mystery.
Typically Wilson wasn’t prepared to explain those details. Wilson is of course a politician.
The Safety Advisory Group has set out requirements? ?
SAG, the non-statutory body that has no legal power?
SAG do not issue the safety certificate, Glasgow City Council does
Seems like either the SAG are entirely confused about their power or Celtic are misrepresenting it https://t.co/UxUDzqMtgL

Since Wilson took over from Peter Lawwell as Chairman nothing has been heard of Michael Nicholson.
It seems like the £17,000 a week Celtic CEO is unable to function without his mentor being on hand.
Wilson said virtually nothing in his Celtic TV interview on Thursday night. He had four days to prepare for that underwhelming chat with Gerry McCulloch.
If Nicholson isn’t prepared to waffle his way through a token box-ticking exercise like that there really seems to be no point in having a ‘leading sports lawyer’ as CEO.
Nicholson has been interviewed twice by Celtic TV. Both in December 2025 explaining his excitement over the brilliance of Wilfried Nancy.

Joe I’d have the green brigade back in a heart beat…Celtic Park is not the same without them but I’ve got a feeling that cabbage patch doll face bastard Wilson detests them for their colour and what they believe in considering his a butchers apron loving Brit i think he’ll do he’s best to make it as hard as possible to find a solution….Wilson in my opinion is a lying bastard in the same category as Tom English
I commented on read celtic this morning regarding other agencies involvement on making decisions regarding our support. It’s absolutely, bollocks.
Nicholson wants the title and the money – but not the responsibility of CEO.
In a ‘normal’ plc he wouldn’t have got near the CEO position with his limited CV.
But, perhaps DD is just satisfied with Nicholson’s compliance…?
The aftermath from Sunday’s game has been predictably underwhelming from
MN and the Board.
Who is keeping the green brigade out of Celtic Park ?
An establishment minded board influenced by a billionaire majority shareholder with business interests aligned with said establishment, influenced by Israeli lobbyists!
Joe, I am a gentleman of a similar age to you and I generally look for your articles, we all have options and views but usually I find yours reasonably well balanced and on point.
HOWEVER
Please do use your faithful support from the Celtic Breathern to promote.or disparate Poltical Paarties, hey you may well be a ninja in that world and if so set up another site to communicate these your views.
Not here pal, in short reign your neck in a wed bit and dance in your own disco space. Celtic and football.

Editor: I will call out politicians any time I like, especially ones like Wilson, Mandelson, Blair and Brown. If you want to hero worship folk like that head over to Thick News and you will be in among the cap doffing New Labour nomarks
Well said Joe!
