Four days after watching club employees physically attacked at Ibrox, Celtic have finally found a voice. Through 77-year-old Brian Wilson.
The Interim Chairman spoke for eight minutes to Gerry McCulloch without making any reference to the attacks on players and medical staff.
Earlier on Thursday Celtic had joyfully launched their latest Irish origins cash grab with Adidas. Fans can buy a trackie for just £160.
Flares, bottles and coins were launched into the Broomloan Road Stand housing Celtic supporters, including players and other employees on Sunday.
WILSON ON AUTO PILOT
The contempt of the club for those anti-establishment fans has long been established. Wilson continued that theme while being fed questions by McCulloch.
It was another cowardly act from Celtic that puts their employees at greater risk of a repeat when Celtic next visit Ibrox.
That match will be in December or January 2027 unless there is a League Cup quarter final between the clubs.
Wilson said nothing in particular about the events at Ibrox with the attack on a staff member happening on the pitch in front of his cushioned seat in the Directors Box.
In 2022 as a Non Executive Director Wilson was happy to sign off on the Sydney Super Cup. A venture to exploit, market and monetise Celtic’s vile partnership with Scotland’s newest club.
Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson hasn’t said a word in public since December 17.
On that occasion he spoke about his dismay over three staff members being attacked at Celtic Park following the League Cup Final defeat from St Mirren at Hampden.
No CCTV coverage has been shared, there has been no reporting of any arrests or charges being made.
Celtic would have the details of everyone inside Celtic Park at that time.
IBROX ROLL OF SHAME
The refusal to condemn and comment on attacks on Celtic employees follows a long pattern of incidents at Ibrox.
- April 2022 glass mysteriously appears in Joe Hart’s penalty box. No one noticed a bottle being thrown. Ibrox ground-staff were in the penalty area during the half time break.
- April 2022 Physio Daniel Friel is permanently disfigured by a glass thrown by a corporate client
- March 2024 A full glass bottle is thrown at Matt O’Riley
- January 2025 Arne Engels is hit in the face by a missile while taking a corner.
- May 2025 Vil Sinisalo has a full glass bottle and other missiles thrown at him.
Any agents negotiating a transfer of a player to Celtic in the summer know what to expect when the club visits Ibrox.
And that no matter what happens corporate Celtic puts their O** F*** partnership ahead of the safety of employees.
Wilson also blamed the Safety Advisory Group for the continuing suspension of the Green Brigade.
Celtic first suspended the Green Brigade in November.
Wilson is a former Labour MP. It is in his DNA to deflect and pivot away from any issue.

Shows you a person of 77 with all these years of knowledge can’t come out with a strong statement and crucify those that attacked our employees and should not care about what is said in return and take the flak would not like him in the trenches alongside me.
As Nepo baby pointed out at that farce of an AGM , the board of Celtic FC are the establishment and in being such have zero interest in any opinion outside of their cabal.
They do not care for supporters concerns or safety – just for their money!
It could even be argued they have little regard for their employees safety aswell ! Happy clappers will give it “ what about all the trophies?” Yeah winning trophies is always fantastic but we could and should be so much more.
We are being held back by this board (Desmond) but how do you make effective change and get our club back ?
Too many times we have accepted the garbage …they are as bad as each other..
It’s time to put that to the test .The Celtic supporters staff are entitled to sue Ibrox and police Scotland. They had a duty of care to all on Sunday and it was not just ultras…so don’t let that be the focus. Hurt them where it matters ..in court.
Lastly Let’s never condone the taunting of rangers about when 66 supporters who lost their lives …and many injured …I remember the evening when the news broke where I was and what I was doing…It was real.
It’s time we found out who are the members of the SAG. They seem to have one rule for Celtic and another for anyone else. They also have a hand in the planning of events which on Sunday were an absolute disaster waiting to happen. From the Glasgow City Council website they are made up of these common sense driven bodies:
A chairperson appointment by Glasgow City Council (GLC)
GLC Building standards.
Police Scottish
Scottish Fire and Rescue.
Scottish Ambulance Service.
Why do they have any say in who can enter a football stadium if the attendees are not breaking the law ? Why are they constantly complaining about the safe standing section at Celtic Park, when most other clubs including the huns don’t have one, with overcrowded poorly stewarded sections of a stand used to house their ultras.
Call me paranoid and anti establishment (ok, I admit to the latter and have done for 69 years) but we need to address why Celtic fans are being treated differently from others. Is it institutionalised bigotry or board bullshit.
They should remember there is an election coming up. Anybody for an FOI to GLC and the others involved in SAG
Kerchin£that’s all that matters at Parkhead,as long as those £s are rolling in F**K everything else.
This club is pishing and shiting all over the fans who do play their part in being shat on.
You ain’t getting shot of this board while selling out a stadium so at that point the board are playing a BLINDER.
The only thing these LEECHES on the board understand money, and if that was to stop coming in the door their loyalty of which they don’t have much of will soon go out the window,so the fans need to the cash supply off, stop being their cash cow.
As I have said before at least when sevco fans bumped or ripped off or CHISELED put of cash, the LEECHES on the sevco board have the backs of their fans.
Our board just sling us a deafy,or maybe on the odd occasion tell us it’s a price worth paying regarding the sevco fan attacks at games for defeating them .
Don’t know how many times we have to stress this madman but until the gullible/faithful fans stop bank rolling these bastards on the board nothing will ever change,as you state it’s kerching, geez yer money then fuck off because we have no need for you once you’ve coughed up for STs and rip off Adidas tat,so as you said a full quota of STs bought and a full stadium tells this board they’re doing everything right.I wish we had sevcos board instead of our greedy bastards at least sevcos board stick up for their fans and dip into their own pockets, how much money has Douglas Park chucked at sevco, whatever it is it’s 100 percent more than that golfing twat desmond.
Well said madman, everything you stated there is the truth, there’s only one way to hurt this board but alas Celtic fans won’t do it, Nothing says a successful board like full quota of STs bought in advance, all over priced Adidas gear bought,a full stadium every home game.If I was a board member I’d be patting myself on the back for a job well done.Kerching money is all that matters, the stinking old firm blue pound,so nothing will change until the fans take decisive action.
