Celtic B will continue to play next season- taking part in the newly created Lowland League West.
After five wasted years in the Lowland League Celtic will continue to play at what is technically a lower level.
The Lowland League is set to regionalise into West and East by merging with the West of Scotland League.
That means that Celtic will mis out on matches against teams such as Cowdenbeath, Berwick Rangers, Edinburgh University and Civil Service Strollers.
Leading Junior clubs such as Auchinleck Talbot, Pollok, Glenafton and Kilwinning Rangers are expected to join the new Lowland League West.
CELTIC SET TO PLAY AGAINST TOP JUNIOR CLUBS
Those four clubs are much stronger and longer established than most of the Lowland League clubs. All of them regularly attract crowds of 1,000, offering higher wages than clubs in League Two of the SPFL.
Five wasted seasons in the Lowland League will finish up at East Stirling tomorrow. During that time Colby Donovan and Dane Murray are the only players to have started more than one first team match.
Yesterday The Sun reported that Celtic were disbanding their B team.
That isn’t the case as Thomas Brown, Chairperson of the Lowland League revealed last night on Twitter.
Further to my earlier post, my thanks go to @thomasjbrown1 the Chair of the Lowland League for reaching out and confirming that Celtic B WILL in fact participate in Lowland League West 26/27.
Seems the MSM are totally wrong in this regard and so was I. Apologies to all.. pic.twitter.com/vQQoHqcFvy

They can play for their first team as they are registered to the club, not the team. Also, the news about Celtic B “withdrawing” is inaccurate and they will be on the Lowland League West next season.

No probs mate. It seems something was shared online which was false and has somehow been picked up and appeared online today. But it is wrong.

Celtic B are in ninth place in the Lowland League going into their final match tomorrow. Away to bottom placed East Stirling.
Over 33 matches the young hoops have a record of Won 12, Drawn 10 and Lost 11.
Over the last decade there has been an increasing disconnect between the Academy and the Celtic first team.
Having the new training facility at Barrowfield is all well and good but playing against Cumbernauld Colts and Calendonian Braves on plastic pitches isn’t going to produce Celtic first team players.
Flexible Co-operation loans are now allowed with teams in each of the other SPFL divisions but Celtic have only taken up that option with Ayr United.
With Scott Brown sacked Kyle Ure has been the loan Celt most involved at Ayr, starting 14 of 33 Championship matches.
Ironically, on traditional loans Josh Clarke and Ben McPherson have fared far better on loan at Partick Thistle.

It’s obvious to everybody that Celtic have been deliberately mismanaged from top to bottom by the current Board for many, many years. Why not loan out young, promising players to clubs in the League of Ireland or the Irish League and see how they cope with that challenge. Under the current set-up most of them are lost to football.
As for Dermot Desmond, I cannot for the life of me understand why he doesn’t sell up his Celtic shares; buy a couple of racehorses and enjoy watching them when he’s not out golfing. Why endure the abuse and backlash he gets at Parkhead?
On a lighter note a pal of mine who is a top GAA referee told me a yarn about his dad’s time as a ‘mentor’/ coach of his local hurling team back in the good old days 1970-80s.
Every time his dad headed out the door to a fixture his mam would ask: “Do you have a clean handkerchief with you?” Why? To wrap up his false teeth when the inevitable row started on the touchline!!! I’d love to see the Barca or Real lads try playing Gaelic games.Lol.
