Paul John Dykes has been manning the barricades and firing back at the apologists for the failures of the Celtic board. And firing a few back as well.
At the weekend Brian McLaughlin of Celtic Supporters Limited joined the ACSOM host to discuss the state of play.
Central to the discussion was the 64 page Celtic Paradox.
A detailed look at the multiple failings of the Celtic board to grow the business and improve the team.
With a 60,000 seater stadium and 125 year advantage over their only realistic domestic rivals it is obvious that European football is the only proper measure of Celtic’s success as a football club.
Without a knock-out win in a UEFA competition for over 20 years.
Seven out of nine failures to qualify as seeds into the group stage of the Champions League. Losing out to clubs that don’t pay their CEO £3.5m a year. Losing to clubs like Malmo, Maribor, Ferencvaros, Kairat Almaty and others.
Despite that there are some dedicated Balance Sheet Bhoys that will defend their corporate heroes round the clock.
FOR SOME CELTIC FANS CEO NICHOLSON IS A COURAGEOUS LEADER OF MEN
Reinvesting in the team could lead to administration in the minds of the Gullible Cheerleaders. Look at what happened to Rangers is their fall-back. They have nothing constructive to offer about the leadership of Peter Lawwell and Michael Nicholson.
They even back a mute CEO that has spoken three times in public in almost five years in the job. Two of those interviews were with Gerry ‘Paxman’ McCulloch of Celtic TV.
The ACSOM discussion with McLaughlin flushed out a few Twitter accounts that can’t see past the brilliance of Nicholson.
Whether the accounts are real or just bots is hard to figure out.
This is @ACSOMPOD with CSL Director Brian McLaughlin.
Celtic is sitting on roughly £77m in cash. The supporters who built that club already own thousands of its shares, across ten share issues between 1995 and 2003. What has been missing is a vehicle to turn that ownership into…

There is a deep-rooted cognitive dissonance amongst those who believe that 14/15 domestic titles mean that our Board is best in class. They will ignore any facts presented to them to the contrary and tie themselves in knots doing so.

I strongly suspect he’ll have fewer friends in real life.

Celtic’s strategy is highly risky – and I can assure you they know it is. Trying to find the balance is very very difficult. They are doing a great job in recent years. But it is a tightrope act and sometimes you can fall off, especially when there are high winds

The Board then went on to brief against him to The S*n, then DD eviscerated him in an official club statement…
Yet, some fans still believe that Rodgers was the problem.

You’d have more chance of progress teaching Mandarin Chinese to Kris Boyd and Barry Ferguson.
Every reasoned argument goes straight over their head.
THE GENERATION OF INDOCTORED
Brainwashed by CQN they see Peter Lawwell as infallible. Big bad Brendan is Satan. The evil outsider trying to break the business model by having a modicum of ambition in Europe.
Big Bad Brendan should have been delighted to be handed Odin Thiago-Holm and Kwon Hyeok-kyu to work with.
Any decent coach should have been able to replace Jota and Liel Abada with Marco Tilio and Luis Palma.
Celtic’s run of domestic domination can be traced back to May 2016 and the arrival of Brendan Rodgers. New standards were set.
Ang Postecoglou did a similar job.
Lawwell and his clone preferred Ronny Deila, Neil Lennon and Wilfried Nancy.
The evidence is clear cut.
With Nicholson primed for two months of selling off prime assets the 26/27 season looks set to surpass 25/26 in terms of internal turmoil.
Celtic’s Fan Engagement Officer has no idea what they are walking into!
NOTE: The Trinity Tims podcast will be live at 6.30pm tonight.

I renewed my season book in the mistaken belief that this year’s summer transfer window wouldn’t be the same fuckfest as last year.
Fool me once and all that……
If there is a repetition of previous windows then I’m afraid the book will sit in the house as I will vote with my feet and find other distractions on matchdays.
I lost 2 seasons in the Covid lock downs but this time, at least I have the opportunity and means to get out and actually enjoy myself rather than put myself through the wringer like last season.
Once?
Desmond and his malignant cabal of corporate greed and austerity fc have a ferocious appetite for money to the exclusion of everything else , they have no integrity and no intention of backing Martin O’Neil as a matter of fact at the first opportunity they will throw him under the bus , that’s if he doesn’t jump first this whole sorry state of affairs has been financed by the season ticket holders, who believe every fairy story that is rammed forceable down their throats as they are the only required receptacle to shove all the shite coming from Desmond a multi billionaire absentee landlord who behaves as if he is the monarch of Celtic fc .stop giving them your money or you are complicit in the destruction of our club
With 50K+ ST Holders, Celtic plc is virtually guaranteed to make decent money,
regardless of who’s on the Board. Trained monkeys and all that…
But, as the shambolic manner in which the business is run becomes ever more obvious,
it does also raise the obvious question:
if Celtic had a Board populated with high achieving, ambitious individuals,
– who managed the club in a professional manner and without undue influence
from one particular shareholder – where would the club be today ?
And, can anything materially change with the club operations whilst DD retains his shares…?
Celtic, a Board like no other.
Incompetent idiots.
