England crashed out of the World Cup in glorious fashion tonight to Argentina.
After scraping their way to the semi-finals by beating some minor nations fate caught up on Thomas Tuchel and his losers.
Anthony Gordon put England in front in the 55th minute, after that the order from Tuchel was to hold on to that lead. England has12% possession in the remainder of the match.
It was an act of complete cowardice which will lead to calls for the baldy German to be sacked.
Throughout the second half Jude Bellingham looked distressed as he looked to the bench for instruction and inspiration.
Argentina poured forward with almost total possession.
At the hydration break Tuchel virtually threw in the towel sending on Dan Burn, Terry Butcher and Tony Adams to hold onto the slimmest of leads.
Well played Argentina they deserved it??
Gareth Southgate was accused of being too negative… what does that make Thomas Tuchel?
Did Tuchel hand the game to Argentina by parking the bus? https://t.co/e8GorUP24v— Chris Sutton (@chris_sutton73) July 15, 2026
Argentina came close, Jordan Pickford made a few fortunate saves before the glorious breakthrough in the 85th minute.
A corner was fed back to Enzo Fernandez who let rip with a brilliant diagonal shot from 20 yards out that Pickford never got near.
ARGENTINA KNOWS HOW TO CELEBRATE
Argentina and most of the world celebrated. The fans in the stadium were ecstatic, even after the best part of two hours they found an extra level for their celebrations.
In the second minute of stoppage time Alexi McAllister hit the post for a second time. The ball was fed back into the six yard box with Lautaro MartÃnez heading into the net.
The referee played on beyond 100 minutes but there wasn’t to be another chance for the English.
With Burn at centre forward and Harry Kane in central midfield England never threatened.
Tuchel can now expect the most brutal and personal attacks from the English media. His nationality will be a focus for criticism.
Sir Keir Starmer won’t be travelling out to Sunday’s final in New Jersey. On Monday he loses his job.
There will be no Public Holiday in England.
With the English out the entire world can anticipate a classical final on Sunday between Spain and Argentina.
TalkSPORT will be essential listening over the next couple of days as they hound on their German leader.
