The credibility of those inside Ibrox and their messengers appears to have been sunk over the Couhaib Driouech issue.
All week long the Moroccan winger had been getting the big build up.
Oncoming superstar, wanted in Spain and England but coming to Ibrox to provide a cutting edge, one of the finishing touches to Derek McInnes’ squad.
On Monday terms were agreed with the player and his club PSV Eindhoven.
Wednesday it was a medical in Manchester as the £6m transfer moved forward.
The final steps were in place. A visit to the state-of-the-art facilities at Murray Park followed by taking in one of those great European nights under the lights at Ibrox.
Round about that final point something seemed to go wrong.

Verbal negotiations mentioned an injury with a 10-14 days timespan.
The Ibrox messengers put it at 4-6 weeks.
And at almost the same time Kevin Kelsy of Portland Timbers is being linked with a £7m transfer to Ibrox.
Classic tactics. Only the messenger has changed from the days of celebrated succulent lamb.

After being pumped out of the EL by the Jags the tribute act sweating bullets suddenly and intentionally decided they could not afford millions on another player making it 10 new duds so far this window ! In fact I would say that the young master Driouech watching the Ibroxland dreck from the cosy seats in the crumbling stadium ( the old 50 bob tour of his new workplace ) must have been thinking ‘ what the f**k have I agreed to do ? And then ..a miracle … he’s carrying an injury ! I bet you he looked up kissed the air smiled and whispered …thank you Lord at the news he had ‘failed ‘ his medical and the deal was knackered with a capital ‘F?’
