Celtic were denied a clear penalty in their 3-0 win over Aberdeen.
Typically the incident involving Camilo Duran wasn’t highlighted by BBC Sportscene or any legacy media outlet.
During a first half attack Ben Nygren slipped the ball left to Duran with his back to goal, eight yards out.
Aberdeen defender Mats Knoester was panic struck, he knew the danger.
His right arm went out to grab Duran around the waist, when that failed he had to go for the full rugby tackle to halt the Celtic striker. It worked, Duran was unable to get a clean shot away. A goal was prevented.
Naturally Duncan Nicolson saw nothing wrong.
On VAR duty John Beaton was never going to recommend a pitchside review.
Three times last season between March 1 and May 13 Beaton failed to award Celtic a penalty in matches he refereed. Each time he required VAR to correct his on-pitch error.
Beaton’s thoughts on Wednesday night are unlikely to have been fully on the Celtic v Aberdeen match.
CELTIC SUFFER AS COLLUM DEVELOPS A GENERATION OF CLONE REFEREES
Nicolson is one of the talentless Willie Collum clones being fast tracked to the top in Scottish football, much like Matthew MacDermid.
They have no understanding of football but know how to tick the boxes that see them rise through the ranks at the SFA.
In Wednesday’s match Celtic had 66.2% possession.
Following the tried and tested SFA template 10 fouls were awarded against the team that were in possession two thirds of the match.
Only 7 fouls were awarded against Aberdeen as they chased against the dominant team.
Fortunately for all involved the Celtic board have been muted since July 2012.
Duncan Nicolson’s performance tonight was disgraceful. Another one who gives every touch on an opposition player as a foul, while ignoring similar challenges on Celtic players. The classic @ScottishFA interpretation of advantage -I.e. if Celtic look like breaking give the foul.

The Aberdeen penalty claim exciting the usual suspects.
Throughout that incident Liam Scales has his eyes on the incoming free kick.
If Kevin Nisbet wants to run at the Celtic defender from behind that is his choice. Scales isn’t going to step aside for the Aberdeen captain
100% Scales eyes fully on the ball jumping and winning the header under no pressure and the Aberdeen player ckeary sees him and charges into Scales and collides after the ball is cleared out. So as I said 100% foul to Celtic.
