29th October 2025; Celtic Park, Glasgow, Scotland; Celtic Fans Collective hold an anti-board meeting at Celtic Park: Celtic fans hold up posters outside the main stand
Celtic Supporters Limited have given their backing to Monday’s statement from the Collective.
Both organisations emerged last season but have very different remits.
The Fans Collective covers more than 300 different groups plus over 2,000 individual fans.
They aim to provide a unifying voice to represent as many supporters as possible and came up with the highly successful Not Another Penny campaign.
CSL has a remit that covers governance. Buying shares through monthly subscriptions and trying to trace the thousands of dormant shareholder accounts.
CELTIC GROUPS AGREE ON DEMSOND ISSUE
While there is no conflict between the two organisations there has been little sign of collaboration.
That changed with a well laid out statement from the Collective on Monday afternoon.
Effectively they challenged Dermot Desmond to attend the AGM, raising some of the governance issues that CSL have been highlighting.
We support the @CFC_Collective call for proper scrutiny at this year’s AGM. A few facts for shareholders on where accountability actually sits.
There is no legal requirement for any director to attend an AGM. Celtic is listed on AIM(Alternative Investment Market), so the statutory right to have questions answered at the meeting (s.319A Companies Act) does not apply here.
What does carry weight is how shareholders vote. Directors standing for re-election need shareholder support. Every vote and every proxy counts, whether you hold one share or thousands.
If you hold Celtic shares, make sure you vote, appoint a proxy if you can’t attend, and submit questions in writing in advance so they are on record.
Scrutiny works best when it is backed by votes.

The earliest that Celtic can hold their AGM is November 24. It has to be held before the end of the year with almost all PLCs avoiding a December AGM.
Last year the AGM was held on November 21 after being announced on October 28.
Desmond hasn’t attended the Celtic AGM since 2006.
In recent years he has sent his son Ross to attend, last year shareholders got to hear from Ross as he read out a statement from his Daddy.
That turned out to be a step too far for Peter Lawwell.
After less than an hour that included a 30 minute adjournment Chairman Lawwell ended the AGM. Three weeks later Lawwell resigned as Chairman.
Brian Wilson is now into his 11th month as interim Chairman, as it stands the former Labour MP will chair the 2026 AGM.
Last night Wilson joined Michael Nicholson, Chris McKay and Martin O’Neill in Greenock for a meeting with fans from Supporters Clubs.
The usual excuses and promises were dished out covering improved communications, learning from mistakes and spending money in January.

Presumably, at the AGM Wilson will be appointed Chairman on a permanent basis?
(No need for an exhaustive search for the best candidate, as per?)
