As if his goal wasn’t enough to make him an international hit the brilliant video clip of Moussa Dembele’s goal by a French commentator has gone viral.

Across twitter and facebook the clip has been viewed thousands of times as fans marvel at the enthusiasm of the French commentary team.

Until his double against Manchester City Dembele was relatively unknown in France but three months into his Celtic career the young striker is becoming big news.

Reporting on yesterday’s goal the highly respected newspaper L’equipe reported: “But when Moussa Dembele stop? The second Old Firm of the season was less animated than the first, in which Celtic had imposed 5-1 thanks to a hat-trick from Dembele on 10 September but this Sunday, Celtic won again and Dembele was again the hero of the game.

The young French striker (20 years), who left PSG at 16, scored the qualification of Celtic for the final in the 88th minute, cutting a center with a superb gesture, a heel behind the supporting foot. It was rather quiet so far, but has avoided the men of Rodgers an extension at Hampden Park.”

Despite the attention that his performances are generating Dembele seems very grounded and happy to develop his game under Brendan Rodgers.

His agent will be well aware of the financial benefits available elsewhere but at this moment it’s obvious that Celtic is the perfect platform for the 20-year-old to develop his game.

With Champions League football, trophies to be won and a manager with complete faith in his ability Dembele knows where the grass is greenest.
