Polish refs are withdrawn

Hopes of a full card of SPL fixtures over the weekend have taken a major blow with the Polish FA withdrawing the services of their referees.

Two of the Polish referees selected for SPL duty had given interviews in support of the Scottish referees with the Polish FA now claiming that they are required for duties at home.

The First Division match between Morton and Falkirk has been cancelled as the SFA prioritise SPL fixtures to be refereed.

Three sets of officials were due to fly in from Poland for the weekend with the SFA now forced to look for further options.

Officials from Portugal, Israel, Austria and Luxembourg have agreed to cover for the striking Scottish referees but may now have second thoughts after the Poles pulled out.

One solution could be to give the officials two matches with the referee’s scheduled for Sunday’s matches running the line at the Saturday Scottish Cup ties.

The weather could yet have a major impact on the fixture card with the forecast of overnight frost putting the Scottish Cup ties between Beith and Airdrie, Annan Athletic and Brechin plus the Threave Rovers Stenhousemuir tie.

We have been placed in a “lose, lose” situation. This will make the establishment all the more adamant that the league will again go to Rangers. After all, they aren’t going to be seen bending to us, are they?

Ah, the good old impartial BBC Scotland. A fair deal for all? Bullshit. Their behaviour since this whole scandal broke has verged on the berserk.

I might be even angrier if I actually paid my license fee! After the witch hunts of the last couple of weeks (including the poppy protest as their main headline story on the Monday after!) I can stand tall on my principles as to why I don’t give them a penny.
