Barry Robson returns for Middlesbrough

|

Barry Robson Celtic newsBarry Robson is back in the Middlesbrough team to face Bristol City today determined to ease the pain of last week’s shock FA Cup exit at Burton Albion.

Two goals in the last ten minutes dumped Tony Mowbray’s side out of the competition and leaves them with a fight against relegation over the remainder of the season.

Robson’s season has been hampered by injury over the last two months but with a clean bill of health he’s looking forward to lifting ‘Boro out of the drop zone.

He said: “I want to see us get ourselves back up the table and the quicker the better. It’s the main focus for us at this club.

“We know that we have let ourselves down at times, but we’ve been doing better and now what we have to do is to translate performances into points.”

“When Bristol City came to our place we dominated the game for 60 minutes but missed a hatful of chances.

“Then they got that wonder goal and we couldn’t get ourselves back on terms.

“We played well but we didn’t get what we deserved. The way to get out of it is to keep playing well and show plenty of character and then the results will come.”

The midfielder added: “Everybody was gutted that we got knocked out of the FA Cup by Burton Albion. The cup has a lot of tradition and I for one would have loved to do well in it.

“But results like this happen, and no doubt Bristol City will feel the same way after their defeat by Sheffield Wednesday.

“It’s how you respond to these things that matters. I’m sure that our lads have put the defeat behind them. Everybody has been upbeat since I returned to training.

“We’ll go down there ready to work hard and hopefully come back with the three points.”

‘Boro go into the match five points behind Bristol City and just one point ahead of third bottom Crystal Palace.
