Neil Lennon Celtic newsNeil Lennon has revealed that his players were thunderstruck by the atmosphere at Sunday’s 3-0 win over Rangers.

Prompted by The Green Brigade 50,000 Celtic fans joined in a second half huddle as well as ‘Doing the Broony’ by stretching out their arms mimicking Scott Brown’s goal celebration at Ibrox.

When he was confirmed as manager of the club in July Lennon stated that a priority was to bring back the excitement that he had experienced during the Martin O’Neill years

“We want to get Celtic Park rocking again and Sunday was as good as it’s been in a long time,” the manager told Channel 67.

“The players have really bought into it, after the game they were talking about the atmosphere.

“It’s amazing the sort of effect that can have on them, not just individuals but the squad as a whole.

“When I took over things were at a low point but we had a base to build on. Slowly but surely the fans are enjoying coming back to watch the team play, we know that if we play that kind of football they’ll come through the turnstiles.”
