SFA put Calum Murray back in the firing line

|

Callum Murray Celtic newsThe SFA have appointed Calum Murray to take charge of next Wednesday’s Aberdeen-Rangers match- twenty four hours after they hold an enquiry into last month’s stormy Celtic-Rangers Scottish Cup tie.

Murray sent off three Rangers players in the 1-0 defeat from Celtic with Madjid Bougherra and El Hadji-Diouf appearing before the Disciplinary Committee of the SFA on April 12 to answer charges of ‘misconduct of a significantly serious nature’.

Diouf could be in further bother afterdescribing Murray as the worst referee he’d ever had in an interview on French television.

Putting Murray in charge of a Rangers fixture the day after the Hampden enqiry increases the pressure that the referee will be under with the Aberdeen-Rangers game regarded as one of the most explosive fixture’s in the SPL.

Before heading to the Hampden inquest Murray will take charge of Saturday’s Celtic-St Mirren match.

Tomorrow night’s St Johnstone-Rangers game will be refereed by Crawford Allan with Euan Norris in charge of the Celtic-Hibs match the following night. Celtic’s trip to St Johnstone next Tuesday will be refereed by Iain Brines.

I dont trust callum murray either, he was as diabolical as the rest until dougie “the liar” mcdonald and hugh “the bigot” dallas were exposed, 1 decent game for the glasgow derby might be his excuse to resort to type. he could very easily help rangers out in the aberdeen game and use the glasgow derby game as proof he isn’t bias (“it was an honest mistake.”) also he shouldn’t be praised for simply being fair in the glasgow derby, isn’t that what he is supposed to do? (no more old firm – no more guilt by association)

Bougherra and Joof could (should)recieve bans for their behaviour in the cup game on Tue 12th. Lodge(ahem) an appeal and both are free to play on Wed against Aberdeen. If fit.

Hopefully the SFA deal with any appeal with the same lightening quick effeciency they showed when overturning red cards they collected in the past.

    Every trick in the book.
