Title race shifts from Kilwinning to Linlithgow!

|

Steve Frail Celtic newsCeltic’s u-19 side face an early start with a trip to Linlithgow to take on Hamilton Accies in the title race, kick-off 11am.

After the monsoon conditions of Kilwinning in midweek where they beat Kilmarnock 6-0 the weather looks a bit more pleasant for Stevie Frail’s breakfast bhoys.

Three points today would put Celtic ahead of Rangers with a game in hand but leaders Hearts are in action at St Mirren and can maintain their four point lead with a win over the Saints who beat Rangers 2-1 in midweek.

At best Celtic’s season could be described as stop-start but the next three matches, against Hamilton, Rangers on Tuesday and St Mirren next Saturday, can make a huge impact on their title hopes.

Hamilton are sitting third bottom of the table with 19 points from 18 games but are certainly capable of the unexpected having beaten Hearts 7-0 away from home and also beaten Rangers 3-1.

If you can’t get along to Prestonfield Park you can keep upto date with the match on twitter.

    Hi Joe,

Love the website and the updates on the u19’s. I’m originally from Linlithgow, now in London, so when I read your post this morning I was straight on the phone to my brother and the old man. They are now sneaking the nephew down for his first Celtic game!

His dad is a Rangers fan and a pact is in place that the wee man will support Falkirk. Hopefully after today the wee man will be a Tim! My old man will no doubt get an earfull off the son in law though!

    Great to read that Gordon

Be great if this site helped produce another Celtic fan- beats watching Steven Pressley’s lot anyway.

Linlithgow have a great set up- a pitch with grass, neat terracing and a fantastic stand that is superior to many in the SFL.

Good game for the bhoy to watch- the first sunshine of the year and a stirring performance from the young hoops- not at their best but battling their way to a win.
