Former Celts

Cardiff rule out Bellamy as boss, fans want Martin O'Neill

Craig Bellamy Cardiff City newsReports that Craig Bellamy could be the next manager of Cardiff City have been played down by the club.

Within hours of Dave Jones being sacked on the on-loan striker was featuring prominently in the betting to take over as manager of the club.

Bellamy is believed to be keen on returning to Cardiff again next season but Cardiff chief executive Gethin Jenkins has distanced the former Celt from returning as player/manager.

“I don’t think it (a coaching role) is likely at the minute,” Jenkins said. “We’d love to have Craig back as a player but we’ll see what happens.

“He has indicated he would like to play again for Cardiff next season and if that happens it will be fantastic.

“We have had an initial conversation with his agent and said we remain open to offers.

“We will sit down and have a chat with Manchester City and his agent once we have a manager in place.”

An online poll conducted by Walesonline has found that 49% of Cardiff supporters want to see Martin O’Neill appointed as manager.

Over 1,700 fans took part in the poll with Roberto di Matteo and Chris Hughton trailing in second and third place with 14% and 10% respectively.

O’Neill is bound to be linked with jobs throughout the summer but is believed to be only interested in a club close to his High Wycombe home and is unlikely to be tempted outside of the Premiership.

Off topic I think Kayal will develop into a Roy Keane type but dare I say technically better, and Keano is a legend

I hope so Joebhoy, but he better start developing soon, I think he’s had a poor season – maybe through no fault of his own due to the fight for starting places, but if I’m honest imo he’s been a liability at times and a bit of a headless chicken that guarantee’s a yellow card.

He’s young enough to recover the fine form that he had when he arrived a Paradise – let’s hope that returns…I do the the bhoy!

And the only club with a C at the start of their name that MON would go to is Celtic

    Joebhoy,

I’m sure Donald Findlay (Queer C*nt) would happily have him at the mighty Cowdenbeath!
