Iain Brines will be in charge of Celtic’s SPL opener away to Hibs on Sunday.
After a decade in the SPL Brines was surprisingly handed his first Celtic-Rangers derby match in February with Celtic running out 3-0 winners.
Towards the end of last season he was ridiculed when St Johnstone’s Michael Duberry clearly handled the ball twice in the one incident against Celtic with Brines turning a blind eye to the incident in Celtic’s 1-0 win.
On Saturday he’ll be the fourth official at the Motherwell-Inverness Caley Thistle match with Callum Murray in charge at the Rangers-Aberdeen game.
Willie Collum hasn’t been allocated any SPL or SFL Challene Cup matches this weekend.
Same old faces…same old balls-ups….
the standard of refereeing in Scotland is poor and urgently needs addressed…
Brines, in particular, needs addressed….then posted to the North Pole…first class .
Hope Regan keeps a close eye on this joke of a ref. The days of the honest mistake are hopefully behind us.
Just hearing the names of the usual suspects fills me with utter dismay.
