Twitter Celtic NewsCeltic’s army of twitter fans were quickly voicing their approval of the 2-0 win over Hibs in the opening match of the SPL.

Goals in each half from @stoksey10 and @kirrard16 made the points safe with the result and performance well received by the fans at the match and watching on around the world.

The PackieBonnerCSC, based in Liverpool, summed things up simply with ‘Good 3 points, played decent enough, can’t think to many clear chances for Hibs.’

There wasn’t many signs of disagreement from ‘bobbylennox’ who tweetedGreat start to the season! Well done Bhoys! #celtic with ‘meggie fitz’ adding ‘Here we go again, we’re on the road again!!! Mon the Hoops!!!! X .’

Opinion was split over the man-of-the-match with goalscorer Ki Sung Yeung and Kelvin Wilson gaining most votes.

CelticMindedcom MinceCFC gave it to the new bhoy claiming:Fantastic debut Kelvin Wilson. Looked alert and composed throughout. One outstanding challenge,’ with G40Celtic taking things a step further tweeting: ‘Great win, Kelvin Wilson looks as if he’s played 500 games for celtic.’

Across the water PaulaCoMayo was more impressed by the second scorer tweeting:‘@kirrard16 great game today ki. Fairly coming into your own…good man yourself.’

Thecomicsnob was in agreement with Paula, he tweeted: ‘@ahmebertieeKi was brilliant today. Him and Kayal were great together’.

Specialbhoy chimed in with: ‘Ki is getting better and better…… think he will be one of the main men this season!

The thoughtful @TheHumanTorpedo can be relied upon to take a sideways look at events, tweeting: ‘Delighted. Three points & decent performance. Ki superb and Kelvin Wilson excellent. Only negatives were Ian Brines & Calderwood’s cardigan.

Leaving the press box_LauraBrannan seemed happy to be heading back to the west, she tweeted: ‘3 points out of 3, that’ll do nicely. celticfc.net/newsstory?item… Now time to drive back to Glasgow with the shades on and the choones blasting :).’

Along in the commentary box JohnHartson10 felt: ‘Great win for my old club today Celtic fans in great voice, had lovely weekend in the capital, off home now to my beautiful wife and kids!

Conallmckee1 reckoned: ‘Thought we were great today. Ki was superb, as was Kelvin Wilson. Disappointed with Hooper, looked a bit off the pace.

The RhebelRhebel website weren’t happy with the missed penalty either noting: ‘Great start, let’s get these friendlies played and then run this town! And a full time training schedule on penalties 🙂 Hail Hail!’

From the dressing room we had the thoughts of joe16led: ‘Great result today could of been more but we will take that. The huddle was a pleasure to see again!

The midfielder wasn’t the only one to notice the amount of winged birds around the pitch and at one stage looked ready to lift a pigeon off the pitch- he asked: ‘Any see the pigeon not move!! #lazy.’

DannyGillespie replied: ‘@joe16ledSeen you try to clap it away, was giving you none of it. If only Broony gave it one his stares…

Ahmebertiee picked up on the many wrong decisions made by Iain Brines and his assistants noting: ‘Even more annoyed that Mark Wilson was ONSIDE when he scored, was a great goal too. Should of counted.’

  • bhoylondon67 says:

Wilson & Ki were both real quality today, could and should have been 4. Good article, summed up today nicely, HH!

  • @markfult86 aka Saint Leo says:

This article really sums up the irrelevance of our enemies in the old media.Would love to see this become a regular feature.Well done Joe

  • Tony Cassidy says:

cracking piece Joe – simple and very very effective – congrats – and oh yes, a fine 3pts for us today – love summer football

  • Joe McHugh says:

    I’d give another K a vote for man-of-the-match- Kayal.

Great to see him back scrapping away. He lives for 40-60 challenges because 50-50’s are too easy.

He put in a few great challenges today, shaking off three or four Hibs players a couple of times.
