Martin O’Neill will return to the dug-out next Tuesday to take charge of a Celtic Legends side against their Manchester United counterparts.

The match was originally scheduled as a testimonial for John Kennedy but the former hoops defender has decided that all money raised from the game will go to Oxfam’s East Africa Famine Appeal.

O’Neill will be reunited with almost all of his 2003 Seville side including the current management trio of Neil Lennon, Johan Mjallby and Alan Thompson.

Gordon Strachan will also be involved on the night with former Celtic midfielder Roy Keane skippering the Manchester United Legends which will include Teddy Sheringham and Ole-Gunar Solkskjaer.

O’Neill managed Celtic from 1999 until 2005 winning the treble in his first season and taking the club into the Champions League for the first time.

Since resigning as manager of Aston Villa on the eve of last season he has kept a low profile although he was strongly linked with the West Ham job in January.
