Perhaps showing their concerns ahead of Tuesday’s verdict from UEFA on their Europa League future Sion found themselves hammered 4-0 at home by Servette Geneva.
Nothing went right for Celtic’s Europa League conquerers who found themselves 3-0 down after 24 minutes in front of 15,000 fans attending the West Swiss derby.
The win for Servette sees them go above Sion on goal difference into third place in the division with the threat of expulsion from the Europa League hanging over the club.
Since the win over Celtic Sion chief Christian Constantin has made a number of accusations about UEFA.
On Tuesday UEFA will decide on Celtic’s compaint against Sion fielding players banned by UEFA with Michel Platini strongly hinting that the Swiss side will be kicked out of the competition with Celtic taking their place to meet Athletico Madrid, Udinese and Rennes in the Europa League.
