Henrik Larsson Celtic newsLandskrona BoIS surged into sixth place in the Superettan with a 2-1 win away to Assyriska on Friday night.

First half goals from Fredrik Liverstam and Thomas Raun proved too much for the homeside as LBoIS made it four wins in a row to give them an outside chance of a play-off spot.

Since teaming up with Gerard Butler in the legends match against Manchester United Larsson’s side haven’t looked back with the coach delighted to be almost clear of the relegation zone.

“This was a very important victory,” Larsson admitted. “We passed by a competitor, who also gets involved in the fight to avoid relegation, we’ve built a bigger distance to the teams below us.

“After winning away last week at Angelholm we knew what we had to do and deserved the points.”

LBoIS next home match is at home to fourth placed Degefors with a win for the homeside narrowing the gap down to three points between the sides with four games left to play.
