Did anyone enjoy a better transfer window than Joey Barton’s twitter account?
The former Newcastle midfielder found himself in the spotlight after criticising the club after a pre-season defeat at Leeds before ending up with a free transfer to Queens Park Rangers and 500,000 twitter fans waiting on his next declaration.
QPR face Newcastle next Monday with Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias in the firing line as Barton released his final tweets of the transfer window.
“Nice to see MA and DL come through with their promise to reinvest AC money, 59m net profit from transfers in last 5 seasons…..ambition???,” Barton tweeted as business closed at St James Park.
“Feel sorry for Geordie nation, them 2 nuggets don’t deserve that club or it’s following. Am sure they think people r stupid.
“Selling their assets and replacing with cheaper gambles. Santon?? 16 games since 2008, in a poor Italian league, hardly proven PL”
Arsenal’s transfer frenzy drew Piers Morgan into Barton’s line of fire with the midfielder taunting the celebrity Gunnars fan over his clubs signings: “I mean which of them if any would get in the Man U, Man C, Liverpool or Chelsea side????? 5th at best.
“Nasri and fabregas replaced with Benayoun and Arteta?? I wouldn’t of done that on FM2010, that’s all am saying.
“I’ll have u a charity bet, QPR to stay up and Arsenal to finish outside top 4? Put ur money were ur mouth is pretty boy.
“Nice to c u have developed a pair pretty boy. So if we stay up and u finish 4th it’s quits, if u finish 5th, we stay up 2k etc?.”
With QPR finally entering the transfer market Barton approved of his new club’s signings.
He tweeted: “Great bits of business by QPR, glad to see my old pal SWP and other solid signings, to add to a great set of lads. Onwards and upwards
“Off to sleep now, transfer deadline madness over, all those Sky sports news junkies, got their fix and can chill out for 5 months now haha.”

cant say i agree with joey’s past tweets . . . but i agree with the stuff about fatshley and lambiastard in a way i’d love all us fans to stop going to the matches and filling his pockets but i know that would damage the team. . .short n curlys spring to mind . . . but i do hope we give QPR a good stuffing just to shut BARTON up cos i still feel hes having a dig at the lads as well and how can he talk about the lack of ambition. . . ? Glad to see those geordies goan doon the pan man. This is a clubs fans who seem obsessed with a hatred for our beloved hoops so much so in a recent survey celtic came above sunderland on the club newcastle fans hate most. strange but true so long live ashley and his low ambitions for this small club
