Next Gen Celtic NewsCeltic’s Next Gen Series continues against Manchester City on October 17 when John Kennedy’s side head south to face the world’s richest club.

The match will be held at the 5,000 capacity Ewan Fields stadium which is on the east of Manchester and home to Hyde FC.

City lost their opening match 2-1 at home to Barcelona with the head-to-head matches with Celtic likely to decide who will accompany Barcelona to the finals in the new year.

With away wins against Celtic and City the Catalans have virtually ensured their qualification with Marseilles the other side in the group.

Celtic resume SPL business on Saturday when they are at home to St Johnstone with the match kicking off at 1pm at Lennoxtown. The following weekend Celtic are scheduled to play Rangers at Murray Park.

Yesterday there was disappointment for four Celtic players as Scotland lost 3-1 to Belgium to lose out on a place in the next stage of the European Championships.

Scotland finished in third place behind the hosts Slovenia and Belgium but Tony Watt and Jackson Irvine had the consolation of scoring their first international goal.
