Celtic’s Jamie Lindsay scored the only goal of the game this afternoon as Scotland’s u-17 side beat Macedonia 1-0 to qualify for the next stage of the European Championships.
The midfielder scored after 65 minutes to give Scotland full points from their two matches ahead of their final group match with Turkey on Saturday.
Former Sunderland manager Ricky Spragia is in charge of the Scotland u-17 squad and will be well pleased by the contribution of the Celtic players.
Stuart Findlay and Lewis Kidd scored in the opening match, a 3-0 win over San Marino, with goalkeeper Jordan Hart an unused substitute in both matches.
The final qualifying place will go to Turkey or Macedonia with the hosts Macedonia looking to beat San Marino on Saturday while hoping for a Scotland win against Turkey.

Scotland now go forward to the elite qualifying round in the spring which will consist of seven groups of four teams with only the group winners progressing to the finals.
