Chaos descends on Rangers

Ally McCoist Rangers newsRangers’ transfer dealings turned to farce yesterday as Sir David Murray made a surprise return to the club at the same time as trialists Zlatan Muslimovic and Enar Jaager abandoned their trial spells.

The confusion continued with director Gordon Smith in the dark about Jaager’s non-appearance for a bounce game against Carlisle as Nikica Jelavic started to talk up his interest in switching to Championship side West Ham!

Murray’s return will set tongues wagging with the former chairman apparently scheduled to meet the club doctor but reportedly spending an hour talking with McCoist.

The Rangers boss has looked increasingly isolated in recent weeks as he attempts to talk up incoming transfer activity without having the means to complete any business.

David Weir’s departure and John Fleck’s loan deal to Blackpool should have freed up money for new signings but with Marek Selik still waiting for international clearance no-one has yet signed up with less than a week of the transfer window remaining.

The departure of Muslimovic and Jaager must have surprised McCoist with Smith unable to shed much light on the matter.

He told the Daily Record: “Muslimovic left yesterday after one training session. He could be at Sunderland but I don’t know for sure. All I know is he had a talk with Ally and was told we had set up a trial game for him.

“He made it clear he didn’t want to play and said he had other options. We were not going to do anything without watching him in action.

“I watched the game and I thought Jaager was meant to be playing but he wasn’t there and I don’t know where he’s gone. You’d better ask Ally about that.”

Jaager appeared to show up well at training last week with the added bonus that his surname could happily appear on a jersey.

Despite earning over 80 international caps and being available without any sort of fee involved the Estonian has been left in the dark about his hopes of a move to Rangers.

“I am back in Estonia and don’t know what is happening,” he told the Daily Record. “I am a bit sad there is no agreement yet but there is nothing I can do now. I enjoyed my spell in Glasgow and it was pleasing the coach liked me.

“The trial went well and I feel I have done my part. But it is not my place to discuss what the future decision may be.

“I haven’t heard anything and all I can do is wait and see if they are going to make an offer but I cannot wait around forever. I don’t have a contract with anyone at the moment and I need to try to get something sorted out.

“There is nothing more I can do with Rangers. It’s up to them now and let’s just see what works out.”

Adding to these embarrising incidents it appears that Celik might not be joining rangers after all, as his previous club GAIS refusing to release his registration so he can get International clearance until rangers stump up compensation (due to his age).

Gathering this money is proving to be a problem for the ‘Billionaire’.

I’m sure Stuart McCall or Terry Butcher would be happy to loan Sally a player or 2 on loan till the end of the season (ofcourse Well or Caley will pay the wages)

Comedy gold over at Ibrokes. You could almost feal sorry for Sally…( I said ALMOST ), the way he is being given the runaround by the man whose millions are “off the radar”. Can’t even sign a man on a free transfer before you get rid of some of the squad players. For every fiver you spend…well, you know the rest.
