The Daily Mail has outed the vile rantings of celebrity former referee Jeff Winter.
In the most recent artricle appearing on his personal website Celtic’s 1-0 win over Rangers has resulted in an outburst of abuse aimed at the Catholic Church.
Taking the on-line controversy mainstream the Daily Mail states: “Former Premier League referee Jeff Winter was facing a public backlash on Wednesday night after his personal website carried an obscene attack on the Catholic church.
The article caused a storm last night, especially on the social network twitter with respected broadcaster Gabriele Marcotti tweeting: “After reading this, I hope Jeff Winter‘s site was hacked (paragraphs 2-3).http://jeffwinterentertainmentandmedia.co.uk/world2012/1112062.phpIf he stands by this, he’s a sick man. “
Stan Collymore added: “As for questions about Jeff Winter,I think it’s safe to say he speaks for himself..”
Tony Evans, sports editor of The Times added: “I’ve been put right on Jeff Winter (shudders).”
On the back of the recent racism storm in England it appears that Winter’s regular and lucrative appearances on Sky Sports and TalkSport are likely to come to a shuddering halt.
Whether the article attracts the attention of the Scottish Government in terms of their Threatening Communications Bill remains to be seen.
The new bill states: “This offence will strengthen current law covering threats of serious harm and criminalise threats inciting religious hatred.”
Winters outburst was trending on twitter throughout the UK which highlights the most talked about, or tweeted, subjects at the time.

I don’t know which is more vile, the fact this man actually has these thoughts running through his head, or the fact he believes it is ok to actually write them for public consumption without consequence. Disturbing.
Here’s the perfect test case for the SNP’s law against sectarian abuse through electronic media.
Happy to see that that account has been suspended. Anyone who didn’t already know Winter’s animosity to Celtic & Catholics should be set right now – his only speaking gigs will now be at the local lodge, or the Scottish referees’ annual dinner.
I’m not religious, but I find these comments incredibly offensive. They are an affront to human decency. And how can someone with such extreme views ever referee a football match fairly ?
However, I think he’s done the world a great service by exposing his true nature. If any radio station or TV channel ever give him airtime again, I will never listen to or watch them again.
I hate to think what his after dinner speeches are like ?

This clown came to my attention last year somehow I stumbled on his website so if he’s been hacked its not for the first time.
To a normal human being he is a bigot of the highest order and he,ll make a fantastic living out of his bigotry in Scotland.
I can just imagine him being charged and tried in Edinburgh and let off with an apology.
Any media outlets that now give this man airtime should be boycotted.
But don’t hold your breath this might very well be sweep under the carpet.
The only good thing to come out of this is his favourite Scottish maybe soon be gone.
