Peterhead ticketsNeil Lennon has no worries about taking his Celtic squad to Balmoor Stadium Peterhead.

Playing at the 4,500 capacity former Highland League ground probably wasn’t discussed when the Celtic boss got down to negotiating the deals to bring Victor Wanyama, Joe Ledley, Gary Hooper and Emilio Izaguirre to Scotland.

Last year Celtic successfully overcame cup visits to Berwick Rangers and Ross County with Lennon looking for more of the same tomorrow at Peterhead.

“Going there won’t faze the players,” the Celtic boss stated. “I went to Stranraer in my first season here, I don’t think players get fazed as much now.

“Most of the players have settled into the club, its culture and the surroundings. They have adapted pretty well.

“I’ve not been up to Peterhead, but from what I gather the pitch is in good condition.

“I’ve not seen the stadium, but we’ll be prepared for any eventuality whether that be adverse weather conditions.”

Football Fancast newsCeltic go into the match as holders of the trophy and with whispers of a possible treble starting to emerge.

No matter what he does as a Celtic manager winning last season’s Scottish Cup will always hold fond memories for the Irishman.

After a season that saw Scottish football plunge the depths as Lennon coped with a number of off-field issues it all ended in smiles as Celtic paraded the trophy around Hampden to supporters who just couldn’t get enough of the winning feeling.

“It was important to win the Cup off the back of losing the league,” Lennon added.

“We had to finish the season with some silverware as we hadn’t won a trophy for a few seasons. It gave the players a taste of winning and that’s very important.

“We’ve got good depth in all areas and good quality as well which is very pleasing. They are beginning to get to the stage now that they trust each other and I can trust them as well.

“Anything can happen over the next few months, the odd defeat here and there. What that won’t do is change my mind on the players

“I’ve seen what they have been capable of in the past couple of months under an enormous amount of pressure. We are still looking to strengthen, but if we can’t do that I’m happy with the squad we’ve got now.

“They are all working hard to catch the eye so competition for places is good as well.”
