Craig Whyte Rangers tax case

HMRC are applying to appoint their own administrator to deal with the debt crisis at Rangers.

Yesterday the club applied to appoint their own administrator in a bid to protect the interests of owner Craig Whyte but the goalposts will now been moved if HMRC are allowed to appoint their own administrator.

Today’s development accelerates the problems confirmed yesterday by the club and turns the pressure on to Whyte who claimed that the club would emerge stronger from administration.

If administration is confirmed Rangers will immediately be docked 10 points by the SPL giving Celtic a 14 point lead with 12 games left to play.

There will also be major doubts about Saturday’s Rangers v Kilmarnock match going ahead with a huge cloud over the ability of the Ibrox club to complete the season intact.

STV news broke the story yesterday about the application from Rangers to appoint an administrator with the same source claiming that: “The application (by HMRC)is scheduled to be heard before a judge from midday on Tuesday. HMRC is due to make a statement on the steps of the court.”

Further developments are expected throughout the day with statements expected from the SFA and SPL.

For years the protection of the known corruption that was going on there has been voiced by Celtic fans around the world. For years, it has been ridiculed as nonsense. Really?

I ask, what happened to Jim Farry, Hugh Dallas, Dougie MacDonald, and all of the others who were proven without any shadow of a doubt to be bigots and biased against Celtic? What happened to those in power who victimised Neil Lennon for standing up for himself and his rights? What happened to those retarded few who sent bullets in the mail to Lennon, his attorney, and a helpless female MP? Then of course, the now vary famous “Scottish Judicial System” which exhonorated a guy who was caught on camera with millions watching, had rock solid evidence against him by highly credible witnesses for his race and religious bigoted hatred, admitted his deed, and is let off “not proven”?

What happend to all of this, theft, racial disgrace, bigoted decisions, tax evasive, stealing trophies, stealing money from the public, ironically, even from their own kind, cheating against UEFA regulations, cheating against SFA and SPL regulations, cheating every other club in Scotland who had to pay their way and the media who have tried hiding all of this from the public?

Do we need them? I think not. But this will only increase the determination to make sure we do not succeed. Corruption in small minded Scotland is probably as bad as any other country in the third world, but still, the powerful few want to do their best to save rangers! makes you think, doesn’t it?

I do not pretend to understand the black arts of accountancy or company law but reading this as a layman the latest move by HMRC appears to be very serious indeed.

Can someone more intelligent than me confirm this? The boys at the tax office appear to be out for the kill. There will be no getting round this (it appears).

As a club Celtic must protest against the flagrant cheating that this unscrupulous mob have been up to for years. We must engage the other SPL teams who have been cheated by them to scream from the mountaintops that they be punished for their crimes.

    No NewCo accepted.

The move by Whyte is actually smart if you are in his shoes! They are using the loophole created to enhance the ability for crown organizations like rangers to sidestep their responsibilities, and continue to get away as a non-tax paying outfit.
In simple terms, rangers can go into administration, pay pennies in the pound for their debts, and re-emerge as a club owing nothing to anyone, more attractive to investors because of this, and while all the other clubs pay taxes, all the rest of the working public pay taxes so that the corrupt groups who avoid taxes, honesty and integruty can slip in in a little bit further. This corrupt little country wants to be independent? God forbid!!
