Jos Hooiveld Celtic NewsFormer Celt Jos Hooiveld raced onto twitter last night to admit that his goal against West Ham should have been disallowed for handball.

The Dutchman never established himself at Celtic but seems on course for Premiership football with Southampton.

Last night’s 1-1 draw at West Ham was laced with controversy with Hooiveld inevitably close to the action.

“I got away with a handball that evened out the penalty later given (wasn’t one),” he told his 21,000 twitter followers. “The red card was decided by the linesman. Clear view.”

After a lively exchange between fans of both clubs on twitter he added: “Love the reactions from both sides I’m getting, it shows that football is a game of emotions. Lot of emotions.”

Elsewhere last night Niall McGinn scored for Brentford away to Colchester but was unable to prevent his side losing 2-1.

Darren O’Dea was in the Leeds side that lost 2-1 at Coventry with Daryl Murphy playing for Ipswich in their 1-0 win at Portsmouth.
